Packaged beverages contain the following ingredients: (A) from 0.07 to 0.45 wt. % of non-polymer catechins, (B) from 0.06 to 0.5 wt. % of ascorbic acid or a metal salt thereof, and (C) non-polymer catechingallates. A content weight ratio (C/A) of the non-polymer catechingallates (C) to the non-polymer catechins (A) is from 0.8 to 1.0, and the packaged beverages have a pH of from 4.5 to 7. Another type of packaged beverages contain the following ingredients: (A) from 0.05 to 0.45 wt. % of non-polymer catechins, and (D) from 0.07 to 0.49 wt. % of &#x3b2;-cyclodextrin. The non-polymer catechins (A) contain (C) non-polymer catechingallates at a weight ratio (C/A) of from 0.7 to 1.0 relative to the non-polymer catechins (A).

Sheet cosmetics including a single-layered aqueous gel sheet having no supporting layer wherein the sheet of 1 mm in thickness has a light transmittance of 70% or more. These sheet cosmetics have high adhesion force to the skin, transparent appearance presenting no sense of incongruity and achieve excellent moistening and cooling effects on the skin.

Described is a cosmetic composition comprising (A) an amide compound having a melting point of 0 to 50.degree. C. and (B) a hydrophilic surfactant. The cosmetic composition according to the present invention can enhance the water-retaining ability of the stratum corneum and is excellent in skin-roughness lessening effects.

A guanidine derivative represented by formula (1), (2), (3) or its acid addition salt and a production process thereof ##STR1## wherein each of A and B is a C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 alkylene, D is a single bond, --CO-- or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylene, E is H, a lower alkyl or the like, m is 1 to 6, n is 0 to 6 and R.sup.1 is H, a lower alkyl or the like, l is 1 to 10 and G is H, --OH or the like and a skin cosmetic containing the same. It can exert excellent keratin layer softening effect continuously for a long period of time.

Cosmetics containing guanidine derivatives

A gel-like emulsion is prepared by adding an oil to a surfactant continuous phase formed of a monoalkyl phosphate salt, polyhydric alcohol and water. The gel-like emulsion is scarcely dependent on temperature, and a fine and uniform O/W emulsion prepared from the gel-like emulsion reveals excellent stability at the time of production and at storage. The gel-like emulsion contains only a small amount of alkyl phosphate surface active agent of low irritativeness, so that it is usable for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, industrial products and the like, which are required to have low irritation and high safety.
