A vibration damping device for reducing vibration of an elevator rope includes a displacement amplifier arranged around a region from a first portion of the elevator rope drawn and a second portion of the elevator rope drawn from an opposite side of one or more sheaves in parallel with the first portion. The displacement amplifier is configured to amplify a displacement of each of the first portion and the second portion of the elevator rope. The device also includes a limiting member that controls displacement amplification performed by the displacement amplifier such that the displacement of the first portion or the second portion amplified by the displacement amplifier does not become greater than a first displacement, which is a displacement of the elevator rope by which the elevator rope is not allowed to return to an equilibrium position of the vibration.

Vibration damping device and elevator apparatus

An object of the present invention is to provide a vibration damping device including an instability preventing means, for efficiently suppressing amplification of vibration of a long structure, which is mechanically flexible, due to a resonance phenomenon. A vibration damping device () for reducing vibration of a long structure () includes a displacement amplifier () and limiting members (). The displacement amplifier () is arranged along a given position in the longitudinal direction of the structure (). The displacement amplifier () amplifies a displacement of the structure (). The limiting members () control displacement amplification performed by the displacement amplifier () such that the displacement of the structure () amplified by the displacement amplifier () does not become greater than a first displacement, the first displacement being a displacement of the structure () by which the structure () is not allowed to return to the equilibrium position of the vibration.

An object of the present invention is to provide a sway amount estimation system that can suppress a reduction in user convenience that would occur if the operation method is switched more than necessary. A sway amount estimation system () includes a sensing unit (), a judgment unit (), and an estimation unit (). The estimation unit () calculates an estimated value of the amount of sway of an elevator rope due to vibration caused by building sway based on the sway sensed by the sensing unit () and an estimation model incorporating the effect of the displacement amplification of the displacement amplifier (). The judgment unit () judges if the estimated value calculated by the estimation unit () is greater than a threshold for switching the operation method for the elevator apparatus ().

Sway amount estimation system and elevator apparatus

An object of the invention is to provide a vibration damping system that can avoid the occurrence of resonance of an elevator rope regardless of the vibration frequency of a vibration source. A vibration damping system () includes a displacement amplifier (), a calculation unit (), and a displacement amplification control unit (). The displacement amplifier () is arranged along a given position in the longitudinal direction of the elevator rope. The displacement amplifier () amplifies a displacement due to vibration of the elevator rope based on a variable amplification factor. The calculation unit () calculates the natural frequency of the elevator rope. The displacement amplification control unit () controls the displacement amplification of the displacement amplifier () based on the natural frequency calculated by the calculation unit () and a preset vibration frequency.

There is provided a vibration suppression device for a rope-like body of an elevator that can inhibit displacement of the rope-like body from becoming unstable due to amplification of the displacement and can make a movable range of the rope-like body wider. A vibration suppression device () includes a movable unit and a stopper. The movable unit can move in a direction in which a distance from an equilibrium position () of the rope-like body changes. A normal-wedge member has a reverse-wedge guide surface becoming more distant from the guide rail as extending upward. A reverse-wedge member is movable with respect to the normal-wedge member along the reverse-wedge guide surface. A vertical-direction spring device applies a resistance force against upward movement of the reverse-wedge member with respect to the normal-wedge member. A spring constant of the vertical-direction spring device is lower than a spring constant of the pressing spring device. The vertical-direction spring device has a region in which a rate of change in force generated along with increase in upward displacement amount of the reverse-wedge member with respect to the normal-wedge member decreases as compared to that in initial displacement.

In an elevator apparatus, an activating lever that activates an emergency safety gear is disposed on the emergency safety gear. A speed governor mechanism has: a speed governor sheave; a tensioning sheave; and a speed governor rope that is wound onto the speed governor sheave and the tensioning sheave, and that is connected to the activating lever. A resistance applying mechanism is disposed on the car. The resistance applying mechanism applies a resisting force during ascent of the car against movement of the activating lever in a direction that activates the emergency safety gear.

Elevator apparatus

An emergency stop device for an elevator car, including: a link configured to be rotated about a rotary shaft installed on a car by movement of a speed governor rope; a rail stopper provided to one end of the link; a roller guide mounted to the car; and an elastic member provided between another end of the link and the car. The elastic member causes a spring reaction force to be reduced to bring the rail stopper into abutment against the roller guide even when the rail stopper is displaced by the link, when the displacement exceeds a preset threshold value due to further displacement by the link along with the movement of the speed governor rope at a time of occurrence of rope breakage.

Elevator device

In an elevator device, a lower portion safety device is installed in a lower portion of a car, and an upper portion safety device is installed in an upper portion of the car. A lower portion pull-up lever that activates the lower portion safety device when pulled up by a speed governor rope is provided in the lower portion safety device. An upper portion pull-up lever that activates the upper portion safety device when pulled up by the speed governor rope is provided in the upper portion safety device. A lower portion elastic body is provided between the lower portion pull-up lever and the speed governor rope. An upper portion elastic body is provided between the upper portion pull-up lever and the speed governor rope.

An elevator emergency safety device includes: a damper that includes a first sliding surface, and that is pressed against a guide rail to generate a braking force; a movable member that includes a second sliding surface that contacts the first sliding surface; and an elastic body that applies to the first sliding surface a pressing force that presses the damper against the guide rail, wherein: the damper is configured so as to be movable in a vertical direction relative to the movable member by the first and second sliding surfaces sliding; and the elastic body is configured such that the pressing force Fincreases, reaches a maximum value, and then decreases, as a position of a contacting portion between the first and second sliding surfaces moves upward.

Elevator safety device and elevator system

In an elevator apparatus, an abnormal acceleration detecting mechanism detects abnormal acceleration of an ascending/descending body due to breakage of a suspending body, and activates a safety device. The abnormal acceleration detecting mechanism includes: an inertia sheave that is rotatable around a sheave shaft independently from an interlocking sheave; a pawl that is connected to the interlocking sheave and the inertia sheave, and that is displaceable between a normal position, and an activating position that displaces a movable shoe to a gripping position; and an elastic body that holds the pawl in the normal position by applying an initial pressure, and that also rotates the inertia sheave together with the interlocking sheave.
