A pair of gripping sections performs opening and closing operations along a base member through displacement of a piston by means of a pressure fluid supplied to a chuck body. A pair of fingers, which constitute the gripping sections, is openable and closable in directions perpendicular to opening/closing directions of the gripping sections, by means of a driving force supplied from a driving section. The gripping sections are positioned with respect to a workpiece by actuating the pair of fingers to perform the opening/closing operation. Thereafter, by supplying the pressure fluid, the workpiece is gripped at a desired gripping position by means of the gripping sections.

An automatic reduction-ratio changing apparatus comprises a planetary gear mechanism including a sun gear, planet gears, and an internal gear. When a load, which exceeds a predetermined torque, is applied to the internal gear, a pawl of a lock lever is engaged with a ratchet section of a housing to stop the rotation of the internal gear and lock the internal gear. When a displaceable member of an actuator is displaced from an outward route to a homeward route, the rotation of a motor is reversed, and an input shaft and a cam are rotated in a reverse direction to release from the locked state. Accordingly, the speed reduction ratio, which is transmitted from an output shaft to the actuator, is automatically switched.

A float-type flowmeter measures the rate of a fluid flowing upwardly through a tube based on the position of a float movably disposed in the tube and including a magnetic material. A coil is wound around the tube such that the intervals gradually decrease in an axial direction. The coil is excited by an alternating current supplied from an inductance change detector. The inductance change detector detects a change in the inductance of the coil which is caused when the float moves in the axial direction, and generates a voltage. A voltage-to-position (flow rate) converter determines a flow rate from the voltage corresponding to the position of the float.

A mechanism for controlling tension of a magnetic tape during transfer from a take-up reel to a supply reel, wherein the mechanism includes a supply reel assembly and a tape tension regulator detecting the tension. The reel assembly involves a brake drum, an input gear with a friction felt, planet gears and a reel boss with a sun gear. According to a tape tension, the regulator supplies a brake force Tb to the brake drum. The planet gear which is interlocked with the brake drum transmits a drive torque to the reel boss via the sun gear according to the brake force Tb. The input gear transmits a constant torque Tt to the reel boss by means of friction of the felt. The reel boss is rotated for winding the tape with a torque which equals Tt and Tb (Z1/Z2) where Z1 is the number of cogs of the brake drum and Z2 is the number of cogs of the sun gear.

Mechanism for a tray type cassette loading device

A full cassette and a C cassette having different shapes and different dimensions are received in a tray moved to a cassette inserting position, with their feed reels coaxially positioned. As a tray is moved by a tray moving mechanism, the full cassette and C cassette are moved to a tape driving position while being protected by the tray and their feed reels are mounted on a common feed reel stand at the tape driving position. As the feed reel stand can be shared by the full cassette and C cassette, a cassette loading device can have a simple structure.

A feed reel and a take-up reel of a full-size cassette are mounted directly on a feed reel table and a take-up reel table which constitute a tape running system. A feed reel of a C-cassette (compact cassette) is mounted directly on the feed reel table, while a take-up reel of the C-cassette receives a driving force transmitted from the take-up reel table through a torque transmitting mechanism. The full-size cassette is driven directly by the feed and take-up reel tables in the state wherein the tape is loaded by a tape loading member, so that a tape of the full-size cassette is run. On the other hand, in the state wherein a tape in the C-cassette is loaded by the tape loading member, the C-cassette is driven such that the feed reel of the C-cassette is rotated by the feed reel table while the take-up reel of the C-cassette receives a driving force from the take-up reel table 14 through the torque transmitting mechanism. The present invention relates to a tape recorder and, more particularly, to a tape recorder having an automatic reverse function. The tape recorder has a selecting structure, a head and a head rotating mechanism. When control buttons are operated by a user, the selecting structure can select one of the forward and reverse tape transport directions, and the head rotating mechanism can rotate the head to one of the two positions corresponding to the forward and reverse tape transport directions in accordance with a selection by the selecting structure.

Head apparatus for a cassette tape recorder

A tape player for controlling movement of tape disposed on at least one reel of a tape cartridge, the reel defining a hole therethrough. The tape player is provided with a moving member adapted for cooperation with the hole for rotating the reel, the moving member being rotatable about an axis and slidable along the axis. A mechanism rotates the moving member. The rotating mechanism and the moving member are coupled together when the moving member is slid in one direction. As a result, the tape player is operated by the moving member passing through the hole.

A tape recorder has a forward/reverse switching mechanism for switching tape travel at normal speed in the forward and reverse directions. Tape guides are disposed at two sides of a recording/playback head of the tape recorder. In response to the switching operation of the forward/reverse switching mechanism, a tape guide drive mechanism is driven. When a tape is driven at normal speed in one of the forward or reverse directions, one of the tape guides which is located in the upstream side of the tape travel with respect to the recording/playback head guides the tape, while the other one of the tape guides does not guide the tape.

The present invention relates to a tape recorder and, more particularly, to a tape recorder having an automatic reverse function. The tape recorder has a selecting structure, a head and a head rotating mechanism. When control buttons are operated by a user, the selecting structure can select one of the forward and reverse tape transport directions, and the head rotating mechanism can rotate the head to one of the two positions corresponding to the forward and reverse tape transport directions in accordance with a selection by the selecting structure. The tape contact surface of the selecting structure then faces the tape.

A tape player of a miniaturized size in which a tape cassette, loaded in a tape cassette receiving portion thereof, partly extends outside of a housing thereof. The tape player is provided with the housing, the tape cassette receiving portion, and a front door mounted freely rotatable at an inlet part of the tape cassette receiving portion so that when the tape cassette is not yet loaded, an end portion of the front door is urged to a position contactable with a front part of the housing, and when the tape cassette is loaded, the end portion is urged to a position allowing the entrance of the tape cassette into the cassette tape receiving portion. The rewind mode is entered by depressing a reel support spindle. The cover for the tape player is locked onto the end of one of the reel support spindles. A spring in the cover holds the tape to the heads. Aligning guides cooperate with the thickened part of the cassette tape to ensure proper tape cassette positioning. A tuner cassette may be provided so that the tape player may be employed as a radio.

A tape recorder has a forward/reverse switching mechanism for switching between forward travel and reverse travel at normal speed, and a track switching mechanism for supporting a recording/playback head to be pivotal between positions where the recording/playback head is aligned with tracks of the tape in forward travel and reverse travel at normal speed. In response to the switching operation of the forward/reverse switching mechanism, a control lever is pivoted in one direction by a cam portion of a gear to selectively engage projections with projections of a driving shaft to rotate it in different directions. The track switching mechanism is driven by the drive slider which is slid in different directions upon movement of the driving shaft.
