In a high-pressure pump, a relief valve main body has a rod shape. A relief valve seat portion is integrated with an end of a relief valve main body so as to be capable of contacting a relief valve seat. The relief valve main body is inserted into a guide hole portion of a support portion. The guide hole portion slidably supports an outer wall of the relief valve main body so as to guide a reciprocating movement of the relief valve main body in the axial direction. A fuel guide portion is provided at an end portion of the relief valve main body facing the pressurizing chamber and can guide a flow of the fuel in a direction radially outward of the relief valve main body on the way from the pressurizing chamber toward the valve seat portion.

High-pressure pump

A partitioning portion partitions a fuel chamber into a first space, which receives a pressurizing chamber forming portion and is communicated with an inflow pipe, and a second space, which is communicated with an outflow pipe. A flow passage forming portion extends from the partitioning portion toward the first space side and forms a communicating flow passage, which communicates between the first space and the second space. Thereby, vapor contained in the fuel, which is returned from a pressurizing chamber to the fuel chamber, is accumulated as bubbles in the first space, which receives the pressurizing chamber forming portion. The first space is communicated with the outside through the communicating flow passage and the second space. Therefore, outputting of air bubbles of the first space to the outside can be effectively limited in comparison to a case where the fuel chamber is directly communicated with the outside.

High pressure pump

A cylindrical housing including a float-type valve is latch-engaged in an installation wall in a fuel tank. The cylindrical housing has an annular groove on its entire outer circumference, while the installation wall has a plurality of resilient tongues each of which has an inwardly protruding convex. With the latch-engagement between the resilient tongues and the annular groove being provided radially outside the housing, the float-type valve is enabled to move in the cylindrical housing without interruption by the resilient tongues. A turn preventing mechanism is provided between the cylindrical housing and the installation wall at the upper parts thereof located outside the fuel tank.
