When an image before pixel mixture has a high-frequency component, the level of the Gr pixel and the level of the Gb pixel are different from each other after pixel mixture. It is determined whether the image before pixel mixture has a high-frequency component based on levels of the Gr pixel and Gb pixel after pixel mixture.

The generation of a false color is prevented. In a pixel mixture block, pixels of the same color are mixed. For example, red pixels are mixed to obtain a red mixed pixel and blue pixels are mixed to obtain a blue mixed pixel.
