An elevator renewal construction method includes steps of: replacing an old control panel of an existing elevator with a new control panel; installing an auxiliary panel, which includes a communication converter to be connected to the new control panel, and which is formed separately from the new control panel; and connecting an old device including at least any one of an old hall device and an old car device, which has been placed in a communicable state with the old control panel of the existing elevator, into a communicable state with the new control panel via the communication converter, wherein the new control panel is configured to be communicable with the old device through an old communication system converted via the communication converter included in the auxiliary panel, the communication converter being configured to mutually convert a communication system between a new communication system and the old communication system.

An elevator renewal construction method includes a series of divided construction work steps, each being determined as such a unit that the elevator operation becomes normally possible after finishing of each of the divided construction work steps, wherein one of the series of the divided construction work steps comprises the steps of: replacing an old control panel of the existing elevator with a new control panel; connecting an old cable for an old car device, which has connected the old car device and the old control panel of the existing elevator to each other, to a communication conversion unit provided in the new control panel; and converting a new serial communication system to an old serial communication system by the new control panel via the communication conversion unit and the old cable to control the old car device through the old serial communication system.

An elevator modification work apparatus for disposing a coupling shaft mounting aperture on an end surface of a motor shaft includes a positioning member on which a recess portion is disposed into which the motor shaft is fitted. Displacement of the positioning member relative to the motor shaft in a direction that is perpendicular to the axis of the motor shaft is restricted by fitting the end portion of the motor shaft into the recess portion. A motor shaft positioning aperture that passes through the positioning member in a direction that intersects a bottom surface of the recess portion is disposed on the recess portion. A position at which to dispose the coupling shaft mounting aperture on the end surface of the motor shaft is specified by a position of the motor shaft positioning aperture when the end portion of the motor shaft is fitted into the recess portion.

Elevator modification work apparatus

A coupling shaft includes: a boss portion; and a rotation detector mounting shaft portion that protrudes outward from the boss portion away from the motor shaft. An inner circumferential surface of a penetrating aperture disposed on a mounting member is an inclined pressing surface that is inclined relative to a shaft axis of the motor shaft such that an inside diameter of the penetrating aperture increases continuously toward the motor shaft. An inclined bearing surface that is inclined relative to a shaft axis of the coupling shaft is disposed on the boss portion so as to be formed into an annular shape around the shaft axis of the coupling shaft, and such that an outside diameter of the boss portion increases continuously toward the motor shaft. The inclined pressing surface is able to contact the inclined bearing surface by the mounting member being displaced toward the motor shaft.

A controller for an elevator. The elevator includes a landing passageway where a car stops and passengers board or alight and a hoistway through which the car is raised or lowered. A control panel for controlling the raising, lowering, and stopping of the car is disposed in the hoistway at a position where the control panel does not interfere with the raising or lowering of the car, and a mechanism for drawing out the control panel to the landing passageway is provided. Accordingly, space in the hoistway is effectively used, and the landing passageway which passengers do not use during maintenance can be readily utilized for a maintenance operation.
