A controller controls right and left wheel drive motors based on a tire angle detected by a tire angle sensor such that the angular velocities of a pair of drive wheels about the center of a turn of the vehicle are equal to each other. The controller determines a steering speed of a steered wheel at the time a steering wheel is turned, from the tire angle detected by the tire angle sensor. Based on the steering speed, the controller controls a hydraulic pressure control motor, enabling a hydraulic pump to supply working fluid at a rate corresponding to the steering speed through a priority valve to a steering cylinder. With this arrangement, the vehicle is allowed to make a smooth turn.

Steering apparatus for electric industrial vehicle

A hydraulic device for industrial vehicles. A first motor drives a first hydraulic pump and a second hydraulic pump. The first hydraulic pump supplies hydraulic fluid to a power steering device and a brake device. The second hydraulic pump supplies hydraulic fluid to a carriage device. If an increased amount of hydraulic fluid need be supplied to the carriage device, a second motor drives a third hydraulic pump. Thus, together with the second hydraulic pump, the third hydraulic pump supplies hydraulic fluid to the carriage device.

Hydraulic device for industrial vehicles

A steering wheel angle sensor detects the rotational speed of a steering wheel. A wheel angle sensor detects the off-center angle of a wheel. A controller drives a motor based on the outputs of the steering wheel angle sensor and the wheel angle sensor. An oil pump generates an oil pressure according to the revolution speed of the motor. A steering valve determines the supply direction of hydraulic fluid to be supplied to a PS cylinder. The PS cylinder changes the angle of the wheel according to the given oil pressure.

Power steering system

A hydraulic system for a forklift includes a handle angle sensor for outputting a rotational angle signal indicative of a rotational angle of a handle, a wheel angle sensor for outputting a wheel angle signal indicative of a steering angle of wheels, and a controller. The controller calculates a rotation angular velocity of the handle based on the rotational angle signal from the handle angle sensor to discharge from the hydraulic pump the hydraulic fluid of a flow rate in conformity with this rotation angular velocity, and controls the flow rate of the hydraulic fluid supplied to the power steering cylinder based on the rotational angle signal from the handle angle sensor and the wheel angle signal from the wheel angle sensor to steer the wheels in conformity with the rotational angle of the handle.
