An optical module includes: a stem made of metal; a ground pin including a pin portion and a joint portion having a diameter larger than a diameter of the pin portion and joined to an outer flat surface of the stem; a flexible printed circuit including a wiring pattern on a front surface and a ground pattern having an exposed surface at a position facing the outer flat surface of the stem on a back surface, in which a tip portion of the pin portion of the ground pin penetrating a second through hole is electrically connected to the second through hole on the front surface; and a plate made of metal, having a back surface joined to the outer flat surface of the stem and a front surface joined to the exposed surface of the ground pattern.

A technology disclosed in the specification of the subject application relates to a laser light source device capable of suppressing loss of optical output power from a semiconductor laser device, and to a method of manufacturing of a laser light source device while the degree of freedom in arrangement of the semiconductor laser device is secured. A laser light source device according to the subject technology includes a semiconductor laser device, and an optical element provided on an optical axis of an emission light emitted from the semiconductor laser device. The optical element separates a portion of a luminous flux of an emission light that is emitted from the semiconductor laser device and that is not separated in a fast axis direction from another portion so as to be separated in the fast axis direction.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a small and simply-structured light-source device. A light-source device according to the present invention includes a laser light source section, a stem on which the laser light source section is mounted, a cap with an opening, the cap being bonded to the stem in such a manner that the cap covers the laser light source section, a lens holder joined to an outer surface of the cap in such a manner that the lens holder extends over the opening, and a collimating lens supported by the lens holder, the collimating lens collimating a light ray emitted from the laser light source section and then passing through the opening.

Provided is a light source device which includes: a LD mounted on a stem; a cap fixed to the stem so as to cover the LD; a light converging lens capable of converging light flux emitted from the LD; an optical fiber connection portion to which an optical fiber is connected, the optical fiber receiving inputting of the light flux converged by the light converging lens; and a holder for holding the optical fiber connection portion, the holder being fixed to the cap. The optical fiber connection portion includes a position adjusting portion which adjusts a position of the optical fiber connection portion with respect to the holder.
