The outer electrode is disposed on the surface of the ceramic body so as to cover the end portion of the inner electrode. The outer electrode includes a resin and a metal. The connecting portion is disposed so as to extend from an inside of the outer electrode to an inside of the ceramic body. In a portion of the surface of the ceramic body on which the outer electrode is disposed, the length of the connecting portion that extends in a direction in which the inner electrode is extends about 2.4 &#x3bc;m or more.

Method for producing a ceramic electronic component

An electronic component includes an electronic component body and an external electrode. The external electrode is disposed on the electronic component body. The external electrode includes a Pd plating layer and a Ni plating layer. The Pd plating layer defines an outermost layer. The Ni plating layer is disposed inside the Pd plating layer. The Ni plating layer is partly exposed from the Pd plating layer.

Electronic component and electronic component-mounted structure

A monolithic ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic body including a stack of ceramic layers. Inner electrodes are disposed within the ceramic body and include exposed portions at the end surfaces of the ceramic body. A pair of outer electrodes is arranged on the end surfaces of the ceramic body so as to extend from the end surfaces to the main surfaces and side surfaces of the ceramic body. Monolithic ceramic electronic component

An external electrode includes an underlying electrode layer on an end surface of a ceramic body and connected to an internal electrode, an external electrode layer located outside the underlying electrode layer, and an intermediate electrode layer including at least a portion between the underlying electrode layer and the external electrode layer. The intermediate electrode layer includes a conductive resin, and the underlying electrode layer and the external electrode layer include a material lower in electrical resistivity than the conductive resin. The intermediate electrode layer entirely or substantially entirely covers the end surfaces and extends from the end surfaces to portions, respectively, of one main surface, and the underlying electrode layer is partially exposed from the intermediate electrode layer to include an exposed surface and is in surface-contact with the external electrode layer at the exposed surface.

Chip-shaped electronic component

A ceramic electronic component includes an electronic component body, an inner electrode, and an outer electrode. The outer electrode includes a fired electrode layer and first and second plated layers. The fired electrode layer is disposed on the electronic component body. The first plated layer is disposed on the fired electrode layer. The thickness of the first plated layer is about 3 &#x3bc;m to about 8 &#x3bc;m, for example. The first plated layer contains nickel. The second plated layer is disposed on the first plated layer. The thickness of the second plated layer is about 0.025 &#x3bc;m to about 1 &#x3bc;m, for example. The second plated layer contains lead.

Ceramic electronic component

In a multilayer ceramic capacitor, outer electrodes include base electrode layers including a conductive metal and a glass component on a ceramic multilayer body, conductive resin layers including a thermosetting resin and a metal component on the base electrode layers such that exposed portions of the base electrode layers are exposed at least at one corner on one end surface side of the ceramic multilayer body and at least at one corner on the other end surface side thereof, and plating layers on the conductive resin layers and the exposed portions of the base electrode layers. The exposed portions of the base electrode layers are in direct contact with the plating layers at least at one corner on the one end surface side of the ceramic multilayer body and at least at one corner on the other end surface side thereof.

Multilayer ceramic capacitor

A ceramic body is prepared that includes an inner electrode disposed inside the ceramic body and in which an end portion of the inner electrode is led to a surface of the ceramic body. An electrode layer is formed on the surface of the ceramic body so as to cover the end portion of the inner electrode, the electrode layer containing a resin, a first metal filler that contains a first metal component, and a second metal filler that contains a second metal component having a higher melting point than the first metal component. A heating step of heating the electrode layer is performed to form an electrode including a metal layer that is located on the surface of the ceramic body and that contains the first and second metal components and a metal contained in the inner electrode.

A ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic body and first and second outer electrodes. The first and second outer electrodes are located on the ceramic body. The first outer electrode includes a first resin electrode layer, and the second outer electrode includes a second resin electrode layer. Each of the resin electrode layers includes a conductive material and a resin. The moisture content of the resin electrode layers is about 0.005 mass % or less.

A ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic body and an outer electrode. The outer electrode is disposed on the ceramic body. The outer electrode includes a first conductive layer and a second conductive layer. The first conductive layer includes a resin, a first metal component, and a second metal component having a higher melting point than the first metal component. The second conductive layer is disposed on the first conductive layer. The second conductive layer is includes a plating film. An alloy particle containing the first metal component and the second metal component protrudes to the second conductive layer side from a surface of the first conductive layer.
