A high-moisture-permeability, microporous plastic film randomly having a lot of recesses having different opening diameters and depths, with clefts formed in the recesses, is produced by pressing a first pattern roll randomly having a lot of high-hardness, fine particles having sharp edges on a roll body surface to a flat-surface metal roll, to produce an anvil roll randomly having a lot of recesses on a metal roll surface; arranging a second pattern roll randomly having a lot of high-hardness, fine particles having sharp edges on a roll body surface oppositely to the anvil roll; and passing a plastic film through a gap between the second pattern roll and the anvil roll.

An apparatus for producing a microporous plastic film comprising a pattern roll having large numbers of high-hardness, fine particles; an anvil roll opposing the pattern roll; a conveying means for passing a plastic film through a gap of both rolls; a stationary frame rotatably supporting one of both rolls; a pair of laterally arranged movable frames rotatably supporting the other roll; and a pair of laterally arranged carriages to each of which each of the movable frames is fixed; at least one of the carriages moving in a running direction of the plastic film to generate positional difference between a pair of the movable frames, so that the center axes of both rolls are relatively inclined to each other.

An apparatus for producing an easy-to-tear plastic film comprising a pattern roll rotatably supported by a pair of stationary frames, an anvil roll moving along a pair of movable frames, a first driving unit for rotating the movable frames, and second driving units each mounted to the movable frame to move the anvil roll up and down; high-hardness, fine particles projecting from a rolling surface of the pattern roll having such average height and maximum height as enabling the formation of unpenetrating fine pores in a plastic film; with the anvil roll inclined to the pattern roll in a horizontal plane by the operation of the first driving unit, large numbers of unpenetrating fine pores being formed transversely uniformly in the plastic film passing through a gap of both rolls.

A heat-dissipating film comprising a heat-conductive layer obtained by burning a mixture layer of flaky carbon and a binder resin to carbonize or burn off the binder resin, and plastic films covering the heat-conductive layer, the heat-conductive layer having a density of 1.9 g/cmor more and thermal conductivity of 450 W/mK or more, is produced by (1) sandwiching a mixture layer of flaky carbon and a binder resin with a pair of first plastic films to form a laminated film; (2) heat-pressing the laminated film to densify the mixture layer; (3) burning the mixture layer to carbonize the binder resin in the mixture layer; (4) pressing the resultant burnt layer to form the heat-conductive layer; and (5) sealing the heat-conductive layer with second plastic films.
