A roll film connecting device comprises means for transporting a preceding film and a film following the film via a connecting station, a pair of connecting members arranged at the connecting station and movable toward or away from each other with a film transport path positioned therebetween, each of the connecting members having a face opposed to the other and serving as a suction face, a pair of cutters so arranged as to be movable out of or into the respective suction faces of the connecting members, and a cutter receiver so disposed as to be movable into or out of a space between the connecting members as moved away from each other.

Roll film connecting device and method

A container sealing apparatus wherein a strip of closure material can be transported intermittently a desired distance at a time, and this distance is variable in accordance with the size of containers to be sealed to achieve savings in the material without wasting. The closure material is affixed to the opening edge portions of containers at a sealing station, and a closure is blanked out from the material affixed to each container, along the opening edge portion by a cutter before the container is delivered from the sealing station. The closure material is transported by means operable independently of the container transport operation.

Apparatus for sealing containers

A container sealing apparatus comprising a conveyor for transporting containers, a sealer for sealing an opening edge portion of each of the containers with a closure material supplied adjacent to the container during transport by the conveyor, and a trimmer for blanking out a closure from the closure material affixed to the container, along the edge portion, the trimmer having a lifter for lifting the container from a path of transport of the container, a holder having a support for supporting the edge portion of the container lifted by the lifter and a cutter clearance groove formed externally of the support, and a cutter movable upward and downward so as to bring a cutting edge thereof into and out of the groove.

A container transport conveyor having a plurality of holder plates each including a first segment and a second segment, the first and second segments being arranged side by side in the direction of transport by the conveyor for holding containers therebetween, a pair of first endless chains having the first segments connected therebetween, a pair of second endless chains having the second segments connected therebetween, a pair of first drive sprockets having the respective first endless chains reeved therearound, a pair of second drive sprockets having the respective second endless chains reeved therearound, and means for varying the phase difference between each of the first drive sprockets and each of the second drive sprockets.

Conveyor for transporting containers

A packaging machine comprising a conveyor drivingly movable intermittently for transporting containers and having a capping station, the conveyor having a plurality of holders each adapted to support the container at its opening rim portion, the holders being stoppable at the capping station one after another; an assembly for capping the container by fitting the skirt of a cap to the opening rim portion of the container at a capping position above the path of travel of the holders in the capping station; and an assembly for centering the cap skirt and the container opening rim portion relative to each other for capping.
