A suspended-matter removing method and a suspended-matter removing apparatus are disclosed that require no sludge treatment facility, and inexpensively provide filtrate satisfying a water quality standard. The suspended-matter removing method includes: feeding a protrusion element to a filter layer formed by filling a solid filter material, adding a protrusion to a surface of the solid filter material; after feeding protrusion element, determining whether a protrusion has been added to the surface of the solid filter material, and when it is determined that the protrusion has been added, reducing a feeding amount of the protrusion element as compared with when adding the protrusion; forming a biofilm on the surface of the solid filter material; and passing water to be treated containing suspended matters through the filter layer having the solid filter material added with the protrusion in a state in which the feeding amount of the protrusion element is reduced.

An ozone treatment apparatus includes: an ozone gas generator that generates ozone gas from raw material gas; a sludge pump that pressurizes sludge to be treated; an ejector in which the sludge to be treated, which is pressurized by the sludge pump, is injected; and a valve provided between the ozone gas generator and the ejector. The valve becomes in an open state when pressure on the former stage side is larger than pressure on the latter stage side by a specified value or higher. An ozone gas storage facility may be provided between the ozone gas generator and the valve. A sludge mixing tank installed in the latter stage of the ejector and a sludge circulation pump that connects an upper part of the sludge mixing tank and the latter stage of the sludge pump may be provided.

Sludge treatment system and sludge treatment method

A scale trapping unit includes a casing having a water inlet and a water outlet at respective ends, and a scale adsorbing element loaded in the casing, the scale adsorbing element having opening ports, each of the opening ports having a representative length greater than a length of a scale particle. The casing has a void region at least at the end where the water inlet is located. A scale trapping unit inlet pipe is perpendicularly connected to a central portion of a bottom surface at the end of the casing where the water inlet is located. The scale trapping unit inlet pipe, the void region, and the scale adsorbing element are linearly aligned so that water flows therethrough in a constant direction.

A controller of a heat pump water heating system drives circulation pumps, and uses a heat pump unit to increase a temperature of tank water within a hot water storage tank via a plate heat exchanger if the temperature of the tank water detected from a temperature sensor is lower than a heat source switch tank temperature, and the controller stops one of the circulation pump, drives other circulation pumps, and uses a boiler to increase the temperature of the tank water within the hot water storage tank via the plate heat exchanger in a shorter time than that of a case in which the heat pump unit is used to increase the temperature if the temperature of the tank water detected from the temperature sensor is equal to or higher than the heat source switch tank temperature.

A humidifier obtains, based on detection values of a first and second temperature and humidity sensors, the amount of humidification, the amount of water evaporated by a humidifying material per preset time, controls the amount of water supplied by a water supply unit per the preset time to be smaller than a specific value when the amount of humidification obtained at the present time is increased compared to the amount of humidification obtained at the previous time, and controls the amount of water supplied by the water supply unit per the preset time to be equal to or greater than the specific value when the amount of humidification obtained at the present time is decreased compared to the amount of humidification obtained at the previous time or when the amount of humidification obtained at the present time is equal to the amount of humidification obtained at the previous time.

A corrosion protection performance degradation detection sensor includes a detection electrode that reacts with the corrosion inhibitor dissolved in the solvent and forms on a surface thereof an electrode surface film which inhibits corrosion, a counter electrode that is disposed so as to face the detection electrode, and an AC power supply that applies an AC voltage between the detection electrode and the counter electrode. A change in concentration of the corrosion inhibitor in the solvent is detected, on the basis of a change in impedance of the electrode surface film formed on the surface of the detection electrode.

A water heater in which by applying pulsation of a liquid to be heated which circulates between a tank and a heat exchanger, scale that has been deposited on the inner wall (heat-transfer surface) of a to-be-heated liquid flow channel in a heat exchanger is detached, and the number of times of circulation of the liquid to be heated which circulates between the tank and the heat exchanger is controlled to be three times or less. The number of times of circulation is determined, based on the entire volume of the to-be-heated liquid stored in the tank, a boiling time to be taken for the entire volume of the to-be-heated liquid in the tank to reach a predetermined temperature, and the flow rate of the to-be-heated liquid which passes through the to-be-heated liquid flow channel.

Water heater and flow rate control method

A water heater, which allows efficient deposition of a scale component dissolved in water so as to reduce adhesion of the scale to a heat-transfer channel. The water heater includes: scale deposition device including a tank, an anode and a cathode provided in the tank so as to be opposed to each other, and a first power supply for applying a voltage between the anode and the cathode, the scale deposition device depositing a scale component dissolved in water retained in the tank; a heat-transfer channel provided at downstream of the scale deposition device, for guiding the water; and a heat source for heating the water by heat exchange in the heat-transfer channel, in which the scale deposition device includes oxygen-gas supplying/dissolving means for supplying an oxygen gas to a water feed pipe for feeding the water to the tank and dissolving the oxygen gas in the water.

In a process of eluting phosphorus from sludge into a liquid phase and recovering the phosphorus efficiently, cell walls of microorganisms in the sludge are ruptured by a process selected from crushing sludge (for example, treating with an ultrasonic wave homogenizer), treating with ozone, and treating with heat. Then the liquid phase is treated with alkali, thereby eluting the phosphorus into a liquid phase efficiently in a short time. By coagulating and precipitating, the phosphorus eluted into the liquid phase is recovered.

Process of eluting and recovering phosphorus from sludge

A water treatment apparatus dissolving an oxidizer in wastewater at a fast speed and at a high efficiency to decompose substances at a high decomposition rate. The apparatus includes an ultraviolet radiation part having an elongated tubular configuration, and receiving an axially extending ultraviolet radiation unit with a space between an inner peripheral surface of the ultraviolet radiation unit and the ultraviolet radiation unit to pass wastewater; and an oxidizer mixing part disposed adjacent to and upstream of the ultraviolet radiation part for mixing an oxidizer with the wastewater. The ultraviolet radiation unit irradiates the wastewater with ultraviolet light to decompose the substances to be treated in the wastewater.

Water treatment apparatus

A process for treating organic wastewater which comprises treating organic wastewater with ozone and successively with alkali and introducing said alkali treated organic wastewater into an anaerobic digestion tank for anaerobic digestion. Instead of the ozone and successive alkali treatments, ozone treatment in the presence of hydrogen peroxide or ozone treatment under UV radiation is applicable. Prior to introduction into the anaerobic digestion tank, the treated wastewater may be separated into solids and phosphorus is preferably recovered from the solution. Solubilization of solids in the organic wastewater and transformation of organic substances into methane are greatly enhanced and sludge to be disposed is greatly reduced. Moreover, phosphorus is efficiently eluted out and recovered from solids in the organic wastewater.

Process for treating organic wastewater and apparatus for treating the organic wastewater

During a waste water treatment process such as an activated-sludge process using microorganisms, the present invention ozonizes a microorganism-mixed liquid. It reduces the amount of microorganisms remaining, prevents a microorganism floc from sedimenting inappropriately, and recovers appropriate sedimentation while maintaining treatment performance. A waste water ozonization apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention can include a sludge drawing pump which draws a microorganism-mixed liquid from an aeration vessel; an ozonizer for generating ozone gas which reacts with the microorganism-mixed liquid; an ozonization vessel which injects the ozone gas generated by the ozonizer into the drawn microorganism-mixed liquid; an ozonized-sludge channel that returns the ozonized microorganism-mixed liquid to the aeration vessel; and a control section for intermittently performing an ozonization operation.

Waste water ozonization process and apparatus

Hydrogen peroxide in a hydrogen peroxide reservoir is supplied to an effluent. Ozone gas generated in an ozone generating apparatus is delivered through branched piping to two ozone supplying points and is supplied to the effluent. The ozone and the supplied hydrogen peroxide react to generate hydroxyl radicals. The hydroxyl radicals react with the materials in the effluent to decompose and remove them.
