A method for detecting amplified nucleic acid fragments is provided. The method comprises the steps of carrying out amplification reaction to amplify a predetermined region of a nucleic acid in a reaction solution comprising the nucleic acid as a template, a pair of primers, deoxynucleotides, and dideoxynucleotides; hybridizing the amplified products of the reaction solution to a probe; and then detecting the hybridization between the amplified products and the probe.

Method for detecting a nucleic acid comprising asymmetrical amplification

A spotting pin capable of spotting equal amounts of a solution in a sequential manner comprises a first member having a solution holding portion formed at the tip thereof for holding a predetermined amount of solution, and a second member having a solution supply portion for holding the solution by a capillary action, the second member adapted to slide along the first member. As the solution supply portion is brought into contact with the solution holding portion , the solution enters the solution holding portion from the solution supply portion by a capillary action. As the solution supply portion and the solution holding portion are separated from each other, a predetermined amount of the solution can be carried in the solution holding portion . Then, as the solution holding portion is brought into contact with a water-absorbing support , a spot of a predetermined amount of the solution can be formed thereon.

Spotting pin

Identically shaped spots can be formed sequentially and stably by a spotting pin comprising a bar-like plunger . Four projections each formed in the shape of a top portion of a quadrangular pyramid are formed on the head of the plunger . The apexes of the quadrangular pyramids constituting the projections are located inside a virtual plane extending from the peripheral wall of the plunger.
