An input device which provides excellent operability and reaction to a user, and which can be easily operated. The device comprises a casing, an operation unit supported parallel-movably in a direction along one surface of the casing, having a member to return to an initial position when the operation unit is not operated, and a signal generation portion which detects moving direction and moving amount of the operation unit, and generates a control signal to control moving direction and moving amount of an object to be operated on an image display device, in accordance with the detected moving direction and moving amount.

Input device

A keyboard apparatus permits easier installation of slide retaining pins to a retaining portion and prevents intrusion of dust into the keyboard apparatus from the back surface of a supporting substrate thereof. A first retaining portion has a narrow area and a wide area, and slide retaining pins are latched in the wide area. A dust-proof sheet is provided on the bottom surface of a supporting substrate to cover through holes in the supporting substrate, the through holes resulting from the formation of the first retaining portion and second retaining portions.

Keyboard apparatus

A keyboard is constructed so that a ratio of a dimension between a first latching portion of a first lever and a pivotally supporting portion thereof to a dimension between this pivotally supporting portion thereof and a second latching portion thereof is equal to a ratio of a dimension between a first latching portion of a second lever and another pivotally supporting portion thereof to a dimension between this pivotally supporting portion thereof and a second latching portion thereof. Thus, when the key top descends, the second latching portions of the first and second levers are placed outside the first latching portions of the first and second levers. Consequently, reduction in thickness of a keyboard is achieved.

Thin keyboard

Disclosed are an image control device and a data input device, which comprises an apparatus housing section for removably housing a portable coordinate input apparatus having a control face and a light emitting element, a key control section having many keys, and a light receiving element; in the apparatus housing section are disposed a movable mounting base which is movable between an upper limit position and a lower limit position, so that when the portable coordinate input apparatus is inserted and housed in the apparatus housing section, the movable mounting base is engaged and held in the lower limit position, where the entire upper surface of the portable coordinate input apparatus is nearly flush with the control face of the key control section; and on the other hand, when the portable coordinate input apparatus is removed from the apparatus housing section, the movable mounting base moves up to the upper limit position and a part of the lower surface of the portable coordinate input apparatus becomes nearly flush with the control face of the key control section.
