Provided is a rotating electric machine the interior of which can be suitably cooled. A coolant supply means of the rotating electric machine supplies a cooling fluid to the bottom of a tubular member from a location closer to one end of a rotary shaft than the bottom, and the bottom of the tubular member is equipped with through-holes that run in the axial direction of the rotary shaft, with the cooling fluid being supplied to the interior of the tubular member through the through-holes.

Electric vehicle driving system

Due to a centrifugal force in a vehicle width direction due to turning of an automobile, oil in an electric motor housing chamber housing an electric motor and oil in a transmission housing chamber housing a reduction gear and a differential gear flows to-and-fro via oil communication passages that penetrate a partitioning wall. An opening on the transmission housing chamber side of the oil communication passages is spaced from the partitioning wall. Hence, when oil moves from the transmission housing chamber side to the electric motor housing chamber side, it is possible to prevent the oil quantity on the electric motor housing chamber side from increasing excessively and suppress an increase in resistance to oil stirring by a rotor of the electric motor while retaining a constant oil amount on the transmission housing chamber side to ensure lubricating performance for the reduction gear and the differential gear.

Motor-type power device

A breather apparatus for a power train of vehicle is presented, which has a motor and a gear box connected to the motor, including a common case wall, first and second breather paths formed within the common case wall and a third breather path provided for communicating with both the first and second breather paths at an upper portion of the common case wall, and further communicating with the atmosphere. The apparatus has a feature that a blocking device is provided so that the lubricant coming through the second breather path can be prevented from entering the first breather path.

Breather apparatus for a power train of vehicle

A motor structure of an electric vehicle which is driven by an electric motor. The motor structure comprises an electric motor unit including the electric motor and differential gears, and a radiator for cooling the electric vehicle. Accessories are mounted on the electric motor unit. The radiator is positioned at a front side of the electric vehicle and in front of the electric motor unit. In this motor structure, one of universal joints, each of which connects a drive shaft on the differential gears side and a drive shaft on a wheel side, is adjacent to a side of the electric motor, which is in the form of a cylinder.

Motor structure of an electric vehicle

A motor drive unitcomprises an input shaft, a countershaft, a couple of helical gears, a housingand a seventh bearing. The input shaftis connected with the rotor shaftof an electrical motor M for driving a vehicle, and the countershaftis disposed in parallel with the input shaft, for rotational connection leading to drive wheels of the vehicle. The helical gears comprise a first gearand a second gear, which enable power transmission from the input shaftto the countershaft, and the housingcovers and retains the electrical motor M. The seventh bearingis mounted in the housing, and it retains rotatably the end of the rotor shaftthat is located opposite to the coupled portionof the rotor shaftand the input shaft. At the coupled portion, a wave springis sandwiched between the rotor shaftand the input shaft, so that the wave springpushes the rotor shaftand the input shaftaxially away from each other, with the rotor shaftpushing the housingaxially via the seventh bearing. Furthermore, the drive unit is arranged such that while the electrical motor M is in operation, an axial thrust acting on the input shaftfrom the first gearpushes the input shaftto the rotor shaft. In this arrangement, the pushing force by which the rotor shaftpushes the housingis variable in correspondence to the operational condition of the electrical motor M.

Motor drive unit

A breather device for a power train of an electric vehicle including an electric motor and a gearbox connected to the electric motor. The breather device comprises: a breather chamber provided above a connecting portion connecting an electric motor housing and a gearbox casing; a first breather passage providing a communication between the breather chamber and an inside of the electric motor housing; and a second breather passage providing a communication between the breather chamber and a lubricating oil separation chamber formed in the gearbox casing.
