A downloading system which can be used freely by many and unspecified persons. A recording medium is loaded in a public downloading apparatus, and use condition confirmation processing is performed by using information recorded on the medium. Processing for downloading various sorts of information using the public downloading apparatus is allowed to be started according to a result of the use condition confirmation processing. Communication of information necessary for use condition confirmation processing with respect to use of the public downloading apparatus or for downloading processing can be performed between the public downloading apparatus and a server system.

Downloading system

A computer system which can be freely used by many and unspecified persons. A recording medium is loaded in a computer terminal (public terminal), and use condition confirmation processing is performed by using information recorded on the medium. Use of the public terminal for various processes is allowed to be started according to a result of the use condition confirmation processing. Communication of information necessary for use condition confirmation processing with respect to use of the public terminal or for one of the various processes executed as use of the public terminal can be performed between the public terminal and a server system.

Computer system

In a recording and reproducing apparatus having at least one program recorded to recording tracks on a recording medium, management database is recorded on the recording tracks with the program so as to form a management database recording field. The management data is reproduced on being loaded the recording medium to the recording and reproducing apparatus to manage each program recorded on the recording tracks. In the case of video tape recorder, the management data is recorded on video recording tracks, audio recording tracks and/or a control signal recording tracks. therefore, to cover in the appended claims all such changes and modifications as fall within the true spirit and scope of the invention.

In a recording and reproducing apparatus having at least one program recorded in recording tracks on a recording medium, a management database is recorded on the recording tracks with the program so as to form a management database recording field. An information processing system can have a portability of personal operation environment set information or the like to use an information processing apparatus and can also protect a copyright. A control command is transmitted from a CPU 11 to a system bus 18. An RAM 12, a non-volatile memory 13, a display 2, and an input/output control apparatus 15 are connected to the system bus 18. The system bus 18 and an I/O bus 19 are connected to the I/O control apparatus 15 and a signal of a control line is bidirectionally supplied to the I/O control apparatus 15. In an apparatus for timer reservation recording, previously inputted reservations for a program are recorded in a habit database together with a degree of certainty which is reviewed according to the frequency of reservation inputting for the program. When a timer reservation is made, reservations are found in the habit database and displayed in order according to their probability of being for the same program for which a reservation is being made, thereby assisting the user to easily and positively make a timer reservation for a desired program.

A control data input apparatus for feeding control data to an electronic apparatus, wherein words of a natural language representing a plurality of control commands for a controlled system are received and, after analysis of the natural language expressed by a combination of the words, the control commands are fed to the controlled system so that control of such system is rendered executable by the input natural language. The apparatus comprises word input system with an input keyboard provided corresponding to words of a natural language which represent a plurality of control commands for a controlled system, and natural language processing system responsive to a word input from the input keyboard of the word input system and functioning to analyze the natural language expressed by a combination of the words from the word input system, thereby forming data of control commands represented by the natural language. The control commands represented by the natural language and analyzed by the natural language processing system are fed to a controlled system.
