In a treating apparatus, a forceps body as a treating device is connected to a generator as a control device. The forceps body mainly includes a pair of handle portions, which are used for manipulation by being held by an operator, a pair of jaws provided between the handle portion and the pair of jaws, which are used to coagulate/resect by grasping living-body tissue to be treated and a pair of scissors component members. A heating member, which is a heat generating source as a heat generating portion for applying heat energy to living-body tissue, is embedded at least one of the jaws. A pair of electrode portions, which is a treating energy generator, is provided to the pair of jaws. By supplying bipolar electric surgical knife current between the pair of electrode portions, high frequency current as treating energy is applied to the grasped living-body tissue.

An endoscope system comprising an endoscope which incorporates an imaging element together with an element for determining the type of the imaging element; a light source apparatus, which includes a DMD in a light path from a light source lamp, for determining incidence or non-incidence of the illuminating light from the light source lamp on a mirror; a CPU which determines the type of imaging element based on the information provided by the type determining element and detects a time required by the imaging element for charge reading based on the determination result; and a DMD control circuit which controls the DMD at a charge reading timing of the imaging element corresponding to the charge reading time detected by the CPU, the endoscope system making it possible to extend the exposure time to a maximum regardless of the type of the endoscope, by controlling the light shielding time of illuminating light in accordance with the type of the imaging element.

Light source device for an endoscope using a DMD

An endoscope apparatus capable of preventing occurrence of problems trouble attributable to exhaustion of a battery has an endoscope and a battery-powered light source. The endoscope has a light guide fiber bundle over which illumination light is propagated. The battery-powered light source is freely detachably attached to the endoscope, and includes an illumination lamp and a battery. The illumination lamp supplies illumination light to the incidence end of the light guide fiber bundle on which illumination light falls. The battery serves as a power supply causing the illumination lamp to light. At least one of the endoscope and battery-powered light source has an indication unit for notifying a user of the amount of electrical energy contained in the battery.

Endoscope device and operation apparatus

A larger number of micromirrors arranged on an illumination optical path of a lamp in a light source device for supplying an illumination light to an endoscope and by using a silicon chip as a base are arranged the micromirrors in a two-dimensional are set at two angles. When the micromirrors are set at one of the two angles, a reflected light is supplied to the light guide. When the micromirrors are set at the other angle, the micromirrors are driven such that the reflected light is not supplied to the light guide. An intensity of illumination light supplied to the light guide or the like is adjusted at a high speed by using a brightness level by selected the micromirrors at the two angles respectively, so that an endoscope image which can be easily observed is obtained.

Light source device for endoscope using DMD

An electrosurgical apparatus includes a radio frequency (RF) power source for supplying an RF signal to an object to be cauterized through a treatment tool and an electrode plate. A dummy load with a certain impedance is coupled in the current path from an active terminal to which the treatment tool is connected to the check terminal connectable to an electrode plate. Before electrosurgical treatment, the dummy load is connected to the active terminal and the check terminal. An actual RF signal flowing through the dummy load is detected and compared with a predetermined RF signal from the RF power source.

Electrosurgical apparatus

Disclosed is a light source device for an endoscope including a lamp to flash or to normally emit light according to current fed thereto, a shutter for photographing, and a diaphragm for photographing/observing. In the light source device, the amount of light emitted is variable. In response to a supplied check start command signal, except when the endoscope body is used, the light source device successively checks at least two of the following items; the operation of the shutter, the operation of the diaphragm, normal light emission of the lamp and the flashing of the lamp. Then, the light source device automatically checks, according to the amount of light detected by a photosensitive element, whether the above functions are operating normally or not, and displays the result of the check.

Light source device for an endoscope

A control system with a microprocessor controls an output pressure of a water/air pump and a light amount of a light source lamp in an endoscope. Under control of a program, the microprocessor periodically accesses a decoder to periodically generate a pulse signal. The generated pulse signal is applied to a watch dog type detector for detecting an abnormal operation of the microprocessor. When the microprocessor operates abnormally and is detected, the microprocessor is reset, and an output pressure of a water/air pump and a light amount of a light source lamp are respectively set at the maximum levels independently of the control by the microprocessor.

Control system with a microprocessor

A light supply apparatus for an endoscope comprises a discharge lamp for supplying light to an endoscope, and a microprocessor for controlling various devices such as a display unit for displaying data. The discharge lamp is ignited by an ignition signal. The microprocessor is reset by the ignition signal. The display unit is held in the same state as before the ignition of the lamp even when the microprocessor is reset.

Light supply apparatus for an endoscope

The camera arranged at the eyepiece section of an endoscope has a photometric circuit for generating observation and photographing light control signals selectively to control the brightness of observation light and the amount of photographing light. The light supply unit has observation and photographing light control circuits, said observation light control circuit serving to control the amount of current supplied to the observation light source correspondingly to the observation light signal applied through the photometric circuit in the camera and said photographing light circuit serving to control the light irradiation time of the photographing light source or electronic flash tube correspondingly to the photographing light control signal.

Endoscope apparatus

A change-over is carried out from an observation light path to a photographing light path in response to a synchronizing signal. After the observation light source is extinguished, the photographing light source flashes a light.

Endoscope light supply device

A light source apparatus which comprises a flash discharge tube for illuminating a foreground subject, a switching element connected in series with the flash discharge tube, a light receiving circuit for photoelectrically converting light reflected by a foreground subject to produce a signal corresponding to the amount of light reflected from the received foreground subject and a decision circuit for producing an interruption signal for rendering the switching element non-conductive with partially as a function of the output signal of the light receiving circuit. A correction circuit for producing a correction signal in accordance with a preset film sensitivity is further provided. The decision circuit produces the interruption signal when the difference between the output signals of the correction circuit and light receiving circuit is reduced to zero.

Light source apparatus using flash discharge tube

An endoscope is connected to a light supply device through a universal cord. The light supply device includes an illumination lamp for emitting a diagnostic light and a stroboscopic tube for emitting a photographic light. The diagnostic light and photographic light are selectively conducted to the endoscope. A control section for controlling the operation of the flash tube includes a patient circuit, an intermediate circuit and a primary circuit. Optoisolators are provided to connect the intermediate circuit to the patient circuit as well as to the primary circuit while electrically isolating the intermediate circuit from the patient circuit and from the primary circuit.

Light supply device for an endoscope

An endoscopic photographing apparatus has an endoscope, a camera mounted to an eyepiece section of this endoscope, and a light supply unit to which is connected a connector section of the endoscope. The camera is provided with a photosensitive element for generating a photoelectric signal corresponding to the intensity of light which enters it via an image guide of the endoscope, an exposure calculating circuit for calculating the exposure from the photoelectric signal from this photosensitive element to generate a quenching signal based upon the calculated exposure, and a buffer circuit for outputting a signal of high level in response to the quenching signal from this exposure calculating circuit. When the signal of high level from this buffer circuit is input to the exposure calculating circuit of the light supply unit, the exposure calculating circuit immediately outputs a signal for terminating the light flash of the light source.

Endoscopic photographing apparatus

A light source device comprises a light source lamp detachably fitted to a light source lamp rest mounted on a housing; and a reflection mirror-retracting mechanism comprising a swing member on which a reflection mirror is carried, and which swings between a first position in which the swing member causes the reflection mirror to face one end of the light source lamp and a second position in which the swing member retracts the reflection mirror from one end of the light source lamp, and fixing member for locking the swing member in the first position. The arrangement allows for the fitting, removal or replacement of the light source lamp without releasing the reflection mirror from its place each time.
