An ink jet printer including a carriage which moves along a print area, a head mounted on the carriage, an ink cartridge mounted on the carriage for supplying ink to the head, a lever on the carriage for mounting or demounting the ink cartridge with respect to the carriage and a stopper for stopping the movement of the carriage by coming into contact with the lever when an operation of mounting the ink cartridge by the lever has not been completely effected. The ink jet printer may also include a resilient member for supporting the ink cartridge on the carriage.

Printer including an ink cartridge

An ink jet printer including a cartridge which moves along a print area, a head mounted on the carriage, an ink cartridge mounted on the cartridge for supplying ink to the head, a lever on the carriage for mounting or demounting the ink cartridge with respect to the carriage and a stopper for stopping the movement of the carriage by coming into contact with the lever when an operation of mounting the ink cartridge by the lever has not been completely effected. The ink jet printer may also include a resilient member for supporting the ink cartridge on the carriage.

An ink jet printer is provided for ejecting ink droplet to paper fed into a recording section. The ink jet printer includes a print head. An ink intercept plate is disposed is disposal on a paper feed path. The intercept plate includes a print surface which has a slope which declines along the advancing paper feed direction. The print surface is disposed opposite the print head. A groove extends away from the print surface of the ink intercept plate for transporting unused ink away from the print surface.

In a printer, a bottom of an automatic paper feeder is formed by a bottom itself of a printer case; an operation lever is provided for operating a hopper and separation pawls arranged in a stacker section; a spring member is used as a changeover mechanism for a paper feed-in roller; an ink shielding portion is provided over an entire print area; the paper is discharged while forcibly urging the paper in a concave shape in which its printed surface is concaved; and a changeover is effected between a paper feeding operation and a pumping operation by a carriage at both ends of a carriage-moving area.

Printer sheet discharge method

An ink jet printer including a feed roller for feeding paper to a print area where print is effected by an ink jet head, a transparent roller to transport the paper which rotates at a peripheral speed faster than a feed roller, and an ink shielding portion positioned between the paper the print area and the ink jet head. The ink jet printer may also include a shaft which supports starwheels at the ends thereof, the central portion thereof being urged toward a plurality of paper discharge rollers.

An actuation mechanism for a lever including a spring member supported by the lever and frame of the printer and an actuation portion for rotating the lever by pressing and displacing an intermediate portion of the spring member. The printer may include a feed-in roller for feeding sheets of paper, a carriage for printing the sheet fed by the feed-in roller, a feed-in gear for rotating the feed-in roller, a movable gear rotatably supported by a rotatable lever and capable of assuming a first position in which the movable gear meshes with the feed-in gear to rotate the feed-in gear and a second position in which the movable gear does not mesh with the feed-in gear, and an actuation mechanism.

A method of discharging paper by forcibly urging the paper in a concave shape in which a printed surface is rendered concave as viewed in a discharging direction and an ink jet printer including a pair of supporting portions for supporting both side portions of the paper which has been discharged after being printed on an upper surface thereof, and a pushing-down portion for pushing down a central portion of the paper.

A printer including an automatic paper feeder having a stacker section capable of setting a plurality of sheets of paper therein, wherein a bottom of said stacker section is formed by a bottom itself of a printer case. In addition, the printer may include a hopper disposed in the stacker section to urge the paper upwardly, a pair of swinging members each having a separation pawl located above a corner of the paper and a pressing-down portion for pressing down the hopper, each of the swinging members being supported swingably about a shaft located between the separation pawl and the pressing-down portion and an operation lever having a pair of actuating portions capable of pressing downward the swinging members and supported rotatably above the stacker section.

Paper feeder in a printer

A paper skew removal apparatus including a single paper feed roller for feeding a paper in a state that the paper feed roller is in contact with the central part of the paper as viewed in the paper width direction, and a paper feed roller and gate roller for contacting the leading edge of the paper, the portions of the rollers that contact the leading edge of the paper are disposed in a direction orthogonal to the advancing direction of the paper fed by the paper feed roller. A printer is also disclosed which incorporates the disclosed paper skew removal apparatus. The inventive and unique construction provides reduction of paper feed time and size reduction in the overall printer, as well as ensuring a reliable skew removal from the paper.

Paper feeder

A serial impact printer is provided for printing on a printing medium. The serial impact printer is provided with a carriage, a printing head supported on the carriage and a platen having an outer surface adjacent the printing head to define a printing region therebetween. Tension rollers having outer surfaces positioned downstream of the platen for applying tension to the printing medium. The outer surface of the platen and the outer surfaces of the tension rollers define a plane tangent to the platen and the tension rollers. Supported on the carriage is a guide member having an end portion which protrudes through the plane towards the platen. The end portion of the guide member presses the printing medium out of the plane.

Serial impact printer

A printer including at least two tractor unit mounting sections upstream of the print position in the sheet feed direction, and at least one tractor unit can be mounted on either of these tractor unit mounting sections. The sheet feeding direction can thus be selected freely in accordance with the web replacement frequency or the printer installation location merely by changing the mounting position of the tractor unit. If the number of tractor units is increased, a plurality of webs can be set up simultaneously and used selectively.
