Disclosed is a technology that prevents a part of a touch panel-equipped display displaying an ultrasonic tomographic image from getting dirty with a fingerprint or scratch when using a drag operation to change the content of the ultrasonic tomographic image displayed on the touch panel-equipped display. According to this technology, the display screen is divided into an ultrasonic image area Awhich displays an ultrasonic image P and an operating part display area Awhich displays buttons (Fov, Pos, ROI, and Dop) for selecting a change to be made in the ultrasonic image P. The operating part display area Ahas a touch panel, and when a finger F selectively touches one of the displayed buttons and is dragged, the displayed image P of the ultrasonic image area Ais changed on the apparatus side according to the selected changes and drag direction.

An ultrasound probe () of an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus () includes an acceleration sensor () provided for outputting acceleration information for use in obtaining an angle of the ultrasound probe at the time of diagnosing a subject. The acceleration information is converted into angle information of the ultrasound probe by an angle conversion section (). The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus () includes a monitor () for displaying a diagnosing image of the subject obtained with the ultrasound probe (), and a body mark () corresponding to the diagnostic mode selected at the time of diagnosing and a probe icon () placed at an angle corresponding to the angle information with respect to the body mark () are displayed on the monitor (). This makes it possible to provide an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus which can display an angle of the ultrasound probe at the time of diagnosing the subject.
