A release sheet comprises a support and a layer composed of a dispersion containing dipentaerythritol penta- or hexaacrylate and an electron beam curable silicone resin and the layer is cured by irradiation with electron beam.

A support for an alkali-removable label in the form of a paper label having excellent water resistance and good bottle washing suitability to remove the label and also a label made from such a support. The support consists of a base paper having on a surface thereof an anchor layer produced by applying a radiation-curable composition comprising a radiation-curable resin and a radiation-curable carboxylic acid or a mixture of a monofunctional radiation-curable carboxylic acid and a polyfunctional radiation-curable carboxylic acid and curing the resultant coating by radiation. An intermediate layer comprising a water-soluble polymer or a water-dispersed polymer may be interposed between the base paper and the anchor layer.

A photographic support having a layer of a white pigment and an electron beam hardenable resin on a support can be improved in adhesive strength, surface appearance and other properties by forming an outermost layer containing an ultraviolet curable resin, or impregnating an electron beam hardenable resin into the support, or inserting an electron beam hardenable leveling agent into the white pigment-resin layer, or forming an outermost layer containing a fluorescent agent and an electron beam hardenable resin.

Silver halide photographic light sensitive material

Disclosed is silver halide cubic crystal having a depression on each face thereof and/or a hollow portion formed by joining of the depression with other depressions. This crystal may be produced by precipitating first monodisperse cubic type silver halide crystals and then precipitating second silver halide having a lower solubility than the first silver halide crystals by controlled doublejet precipitation method to dissolve the first silver halide crystals. There are also disclosed a silver halide photographic emulsion comprising such silver halide crystal and a silver halide photographic high-sensitive material containing said silver halide to which a spectral sensitizing dye is adsorbed.

Novel silver halide crystal and process for production of same

Disclosed is a photosensitive material for silver complex diffusion transfer process which has an antihalation layer which contains a white pigment and a color pigment and has a reflection density of about 0.1 to about 0.3. Preferred white pigment is titanium dioxide and preferred color pigment is carbon black. This photosensitive material has a high sensitivity, a high sharpness and a high resolution.

Disclosed are a developer for silver complex diffusion transfer process which contains a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound having a mercapto or thione group and, as substituent, an alkyl group of 4 or more carbon atoms, an aryl group, or a group having both the alkyl and aryl groups and further contains an alkali-soluble iodide in an amount such that the molar ratio of the iodide in terms of iodine to the heterocyclic compound is in the range of from 1:5 to 5:1 and a silver complex diffusion transfer process using said developer, according to which transferred silver images of improved color tone, maximum density, contrast and sharpness can be obtained.

Direct-positive silver halide photographic sensitive materials of high sensitivity and capable of forming a high-contrast image are obtained by incorporating anion-type cyanine dyes having a polarographic oxidation halfwave potential not less positive than +0.4 V in externally fogged direct-positive silver halide emulsions containing not less than 70 mole-% of bromide. Additional incorporation of a development accelerator such as 2-mercaptoimidazoline improves developability.

Silver halide photographic materials having excellent antistatic property and high acceptability for drafting, processing resistance and adhesion to hydrophobic supports can be obtained by providing antistatic layer which comprises (a) a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, (b) colloidal silica and (c) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds having at least 2 ethyleneimino groups and compounds having at least 2 epoxy rings and which has a pH value of at least about 5, said antistatic layer being provided on one or both surfaces of the support.

A photographic material comprising a support having on the surface a polypropylene resin component and a hydrophilic colloidal layer on the top surface which are firmly adhered together, is produced by subjecting the support having on the surface a polypropylene resin component to corona discharge, applying thereto a subbing layer comprising (a) at least one water-dispersed polymer latex selected from butadiene-acrylic ester copolymers, polyvinyl chloride and polystyrene, (b) a compound having an ethyleneimino group such as that capable of hardening a colloidal gelatin or casein, and (c) a water-soluble polymer, and providing a hydrophilic protective colloidal layer on said subbing layer.

An improved direct offset printing plate high in photographic speed which utilizes silver complex diffusion transfer is obtained by using as a silver halide emulsion a direct positive silver halide emulsion which comprises silver halide grains which contain at least 80 mol % of bromide, the surface of said silver halide grains having thereon an electron acceptor and at least one sensitizing dyes selected from the group consisting of those having the following general formula (I): ##STR1## and those having the following general formula (II): ##STR2## (wherein Z, R.sub.1 -R.sub.3, M, A and p and q are as defined in the specification).
