A display apparatus includes a display panel, a data driver, a power saving mode determiner, a power voltage control signal generator and a power voltage generator. The data driver is configured to output a data voltage to the display panel. The power saving mode determiner is configured to determine a driving mode selected from a power saving mode and a normal mode based on a risky display quality condition. The power voltage control signal generator is configured to generate a power voltage control signal determining a level of a power voltage based on the driving mode. The power voltage generator is configured to generate the power voltage based on the power voltage control signal and to output the power voltage to at least one of the display panel and the data driver.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A display device includes a plurality of data lines, a plurality of first gate lines, a plurality of second gate lines, and a plurality of pixels. The plurality of pixels includes a first group of pixels and a second group of pixels. The plurality of data lines includes a first group of data lines connected to the first group of pixels and a second group of data lines connected to the second group of pixels. A data signal is provided to the first group of pixels in a first sub-frame period of one frame period. A data signal is provided to the second group pixels in a second sub-frame period of the one frame period that is adjacent to the first sub-frame period.

A display device includes a display panel including a pixel including switching elements of a first type and a second type different from the first type, a gate driver for generating a gate signal based on a gate clock signal and providing the gate signal to the display panel, a data driver for providing data voltage to the display panel, an emission controller for providing an emission controlling signal to the display panel, and a driving controller for generating control signals for controlling the gate and data drivers, and the emission controller. In a low-frequency driving mode, the display panel operates in a writing frame for writing data in the pixel and in a holding frame for holding the data written in the pixel, and the driving controller provides the gate driver with a gate clock signal having a direct current (DC) voltage during the holding frame.

A display device includes a display panel that includes a plurality of pixels and displays an image corresponding to each of a plurality of frames, and a drive controller that receives an image signal and drives the plurality of frames at a plurality of driving frequencies. The drive controller includes a representative frequency calculator, a compensation signal calculator, and a data compensation unit that receives an image signal and outputs a compensation data signal by adding a gray of the image signal and a gray value based on a data correction lookup table in which the gray value is stored. Luminance of the image is controlled based on the compensation signal and the compensation data signal.

The source driver operates in a normal driving mode during the write cycle section and the hold cycle section, and operates in a low-power driving mode during the standby section.

One frame includes a first period a second period continuous with the first period. An electronic device includes a display panel which includes a plurality of pixels and displays an image at each of multiple frames, a driving circuit which drives the multiple frames at multiple operating frequencies, a voltage generator which provides a voltage to the display panel, and a drive controller. The drive controller includes a representative frequency calculator which calculates a representative frequency, based on operating frequencies of 'n' number of frames before one frame of the multiple frames, and a compensating signal calculator which outputs a compensating signal, based on the representative frequency and a count number in the one frame.
