An Information Handling System (IHS) display includes an integrated colorimeter that is stored within a front-facing bezel that borders one side of the display screen. The front-facing bezel includes hinged door that conceals a compartment housing a tray. The tray includes a colorimeter and is deployed from the front-facing bezel via the hinged door. With the tray deployed, the colorimeter is raised from the tray and positioned for measuring light emitted by the screen. The deployment of the tray from the front-facing bezel is along an axis perpendicular to the screen and the raising of the colorimeter from the deployed tray is along an axis parallel to the screen. The raised colorimeter may be positioned closer to the screen though movement of the tray along the axis perpendicular to the screen, thus reducing ambient light that reaches a colorimeter sensor of the colorimeter.

An information handling system display manages direction of illumination from an internal backlight to illuminate the display perimeter. A translucent material disposed between a liquid crystal display panel and backlight manages a color of backlight illumination applied at the display perimeter. In various alternative embodiments, the translucent material selectively adjusts light transmission characteristics to adjust light that passes to a frontside of the liquid crystal display panel.

A disclosed scaler resource includes a color management module configured to support two or more color space transformations and two or more color temperature adjustment profiles and to receive first pixel data and perform color processing of the first pixel data to produce second pixel data. The color processing includes a color space transformation in accordance with any of the supported color space transformation matrices and a color temperature adjustment in accordance with any of the supported color temperature adjustment profiles. The color processing is configured wherein a ratio of primary colors produced by performing the color processing on first pixel data corresponding to any primary color is independent of the selected color temperature adjustment profile. The color space transformation may be performed before or after the color temperature adjustment. When performed before, the color transformation matrix is modified to reflect the color temperature adjust profile.

An information handling system peripheral display provides backlight to a liquid crystal display panel through a light guide plate with illumination from a light emitting diode package having plural evenly spaced light emitting diodes disposed in a spaced relationship along one side of the light guide plate. For insert molded coupling devices, a midframe structure integrates spacers at opposing ends of the bottom side of the light guide plate to maintain the spaced relationship without any additional intervening structures between the light emitting diode package and light guide plate along the bottom side between the opposing ends.

A modular display monitor system includes an interchangeable display panel with a panel interface and an interchangeable connector module that has a connecting dock and a connector for interfacing with the panel interface. The system further includes an interchangeable monitor riser with a mounting mechanism attached to the interchangeable connector module. Methods and systems are disclosed for detecting DisplayPort (DP) source device connection to sink devices. When the DP link is active, no measurements are made to determine source device connections. When a DP link is not active, a signal line for the auxiliary channel for a DP connection is measured to determine if a source device is connected. More particularly, the auxiliary channel is a differential auxiliary channel, and the positive signal line is measured to make the determination of whether a source device is connected. Still further, an indication is made that a source device is connected if the positive signal line is at a low level, and an indication is made that a source device is not connected if the positive signal line is at a high level.
