The present invention relates to a method of preparing poly(acrylonitrile) fibers comprising: (i) providing a solution of poly(acrylonitrile) and a polyazide compound; and (ii) electrospinning the solution of poly(acrylonitrile) and a polyazide compound to provide fibers. The poly(acrylonitrile) fibers which are obtainable by the method are also claimed.

Method of preparing poly (acrylonitrile) fibers and poly(acrylonitrile) fibers obtainable therewith

The invention relates to medical aids, in particular compression products, such as compression stockings or bandages. Specifically, the invention provides a compression product comprising an elastic component or material that comprises polyurethane polymers and shows a delayed continuous relaxation behaviour. The invention furthermore provides polyurethane polymers containing N-diol having a delayed continuous relaxation behavior and corresponding quaternized polyurethane polymers, a process for producing the polyurethane polymers, a blend with elastane, as well as uses thereof.

Polyurethane with delayed relaxation behaviour for compression products

The invention relates to medical aids, in particular compression products, such as compression stockings or bandages. More specifically, the invention relates to compression products comprising fibre forming polyurethane polymers showing a delayed continuous relaxation behaviour. The invention furthermore relates to polyurethane polymers containing N-diol and corresponding quaternised polyurethane polymers, to a process of producing the polyurethane polymers, to blends with elastane, as well as to uses.

The invention concerns a method for producing a superhydrophobic membrane or surface coating of a substrate from an aqueous phase comprising the following steps: a) Preparing an aqueous dispersion by dispersing particles of hydrophobic polymer(s) in an aqueous solution of protic polymer(s), wherein the protic polymer(s) and the hydrophobic polymer(s) are present in a weight ratio of protic polymer(s):hydrophobic polymer(s) in a range of 5:95 to 22:78, b) electrospinning the dispersion of step a) onto a carrier for producing the membrane or onto the surface for producing the surface coating thereby producing at least one fiber and a nonwoven fabric from the fiber, c) subjecting the nonwoven fabric to a sol-gel process, wherein a precursor/precursors of the sol-gel comprise(s) an alkoxysilane, and d) curing the nonwoven fabric obtained by step c) at a temperature in a range of 50&#xb0; C. to 150&#xb0; C.

Method for producing a superhydrophobic membrane or surface coating of a substrate

The invention at hand provides hydrolytically degradable ionic copolymers. These ionic copolymerizates are composed of one cyclic ketene acetal A, one anionic or cationic methacrylic acid derivative B, selected from 2-methyl-methacrylate, [2-(2-methyl-1-methylene-allyloxy)]ethanesulfonate, [2-(2-methyl-1-methylene-allyloxy)ethyl]phosphonate or a quaternary amine of the N,N-dimethylaminoethylmethacrylic acid (DMAEMA) and, optionally, a neutral methacrylic acid derivative C. The hydrolytically degradable anionic copolymers according to the present invention are produced by polymerizing the components A, B and C in the presence of a radical initiator under inert gas atmosphere and subsequent purification. All copolymers according to the present invention are hydrolytically degradable. Copolymers comprising a maximum of 40 mol-% of ester groups in the backbone are additionally biodegradable, wherein in the case of cationic copolymers a maximum of 20 mol-% of quaternized DMAEMA is allowed to be available. Cationic copolymers comprising at least 50 mol-% of the component B are antimicrobial. Both anionic as well as cationic copolymers are suitable for producing nanoparticles. Cationic copolymers are suitable for being used as superhydrophobic materials as well as adhesives. Anionic copolymers are suitable for biodegradable thermoplastic elastomers and for biodegradable ionomers.

Hydrolytically decomposable ionic copolymers

The invention at hand concerns hydrophobic polymer surfaces, in particular superhydrophobic polymer surfaces, comprising at least one homo- or copolymer, which comprises at least one side chain with at least one fluoro-substituted aryl group. Furthermore, the invention at hand concerns a method for the production of polymer surfaces of this type, their use and polymers of the general formula I: wherein n is an integer between 10 and 4,500, preferably between 20 and 2,200 and particularly preferably between 100 and 670.
