The circuit apparatus includes a resolution reduction circuit and a light source luminance determination circuit. The resolution reduction circuit generates, from input image data, low-resolution image data having a lower resolution than the input image data. The light source luminance determination circuit receives the low-resolution image data. The light source luminance determination circuit determines, by light adjustment processing based on the low-resolution image data, light source luminance information indicating luminance of light emitted by each light source element of the plurality of light source elements.

Circuit apparatus and display system

A circuit device includes a luminance analysis circuit, a dimmer circuit, a first color correction circuit, and a second color correction circuit. The luminance analysis circuit performs luminance analysis and resolution reduction on image data of an input image to output luminance information having resolution lower than that of the input image. The dimmer circuit determines, according to the luminance information, light source luminance information indicating light-emission luminance at which each of light source elements emits light. The first color correction circuit performs color correction on first split image data corresponding to a first area of a display panel, based on the light source luminance information. The second color correction circuit performs color correction on second split image data corresponding to a second area of the display panel, based on the light source luminance information.

Color correction circuit device and display system

A circuit device includes a luminance analysis circuit and a dimmer circuit. The luminance analysis circuit performs luminance analysis on image data of an input image to output luminance information. The dimmer circuit determines light source luminance information indicating light-emission luminance of each of light source elements according to the luminance information. The dimmer circuit determines the light-emission luminance of the light source element from the luminance information of a pixel by using a weight corresponding to a distance between the pixel and the light source element. The dimmer circuit sets an attenuation degree of the weight with respect to the distance to a first attenuation degree when a global dimming parameter is a first value. The dimmer circuit sets the attenuation degree to a second attenuation degree higher than the first attenuation degree when the global dimming parameter is a second value smaller than the first value.

Circuit device and display system

A circuit device controls a display device including light source elements and a display panel. The circuit device includes a luminance analysis circuit and a dimmer circuit. The luminance analysis circuit performs luminance analysis on image data of an input image to output luminance information. The dimmer circuit performs local dimming processing for dimming each of the light source elements based on the luminance information and global dimming processing using a global dimming parameter based on a sensor output of an ambient light sensor, to determine light source luminance information indicating light-emission luminance of each of the light source elements. The dimmer circuit performs dimming processing in which a speed to change the light-emission luminance in the global dimming processing is slower than a speed to change the light-emission luminance in the local dimming processing.

A circuit apparatus includes a storage unit, an illumination luminance calculation circuit, and a color correction circuit. The storage unit stores a look-up table indicating an attenuation factor distribution of light with respect to a distance between a light source element and a pixel. The illumination luminance calculation circuit calculates, based on attenuation factor information output from the look-up table and light source luminance information indicating luminance of light emitted by each light source element, illumination luminance information indicating luminance at which a target pixel of the display panel is illuminated by a plurality of light source elements. The color correction circuit performs color correction on input image data based on the illumination luminance information. The look-up table outputs the attenuation factor information with a first distance resolution in a first distance range and outputs the attenuation factor information with a second distance resolution higher than the first distance resolution in a second distance range in which a slope of the attenuation factor distribution is larger than that in the first distance range.

Display system and circuit for performing color correction on image data based on attenuation factor distribution of light with respect to distance

A circuit device includes an image processing circuit that receives target image data by adding effective image data to known image data, executes image processing on the target image data, and outputs processed effective image data corresponding to a processed effective image and processed known image data corresponding to a processed known image. The processed known image data has a CRC expected value calculated in advance. A CRC calculation circuit obtains a CRC value based on the processed known image data. A determination circuit determines correctness of the image processing by comparing the CRC value with the CRC expected value of the processed known image data. The processed effective image is located in an effective image region that is displayed on a screen. The processed known image is located in a non-display region that is not displayed on the screen.

Circuit device, electronic apparatus, and image processing method

A circuit apparatus includes an image acquisition circuit, an error detection circuit, and a search circuit. The error detection circuit determines an indicator representing the degree of dissimilarity between a foreground image and a background image out of a display image based on the result of correlation operation and performs error detection on the display image based on the indicator. The search circuit searches the display image for the display position of the foreground image based on the reference image, which serves as a reference for the foreground image. The error detection circuit performs the error detection based on the display position searched for by the search circuit.

Circuit apparatus, electronic instrument, and error detection method

A circuit device includes a luminance analysis circuit, a luminance information calculation circuit, and a color correction circuit. The luminance analysis circuit executes luminance analysis on image data, and obtains dimming information for local dimming control based on a result of the luminance analysis. The luminance information calculation circuit calculates, based on the dimming information on n×m light source elements, luminance information indicating a luminance of light reaching a target pixel from the n×m light source elements. Among the plurality of light source elements of the backlight, the n×m light source elements are arranged around the target pixel for color correction in the local dimming control. The color correction circuit executes color correction on image data on the target pixel based on the luminance information, and outputs the image data after the color correction to the display device.
