A method provides a device having a feeder vessel, a building vessel with a bottom and a fabrication plate that is movable in vertical translation, a transfer system suitable for depositing powder from the feeder vessel to the building vessel as a powder layer of constant thickness, and a high energy beam optical system suitable for scanning the surface of the deposited powder layer. A powder is placed in the feeder vessel. A first series of powder layers is deposited on the fabrication plate. The particles of powder are melted or sintered to form a plurality of columns of material that are separated from one another by particles of powder. A second series of layers of powder is deposited on the first series of layers of powder particles to form a single-piece element. A thermal insulation platform is formed between the fabrication plate and said single-piece element.

Method of fabricating a part by selective melting or selective sintering of powder beds by means of a high energy beam

An installation for fabricating parts by selective melting of powder, the installation including a vessel including a bottom constituted by a movable plate, a mechanism bringing powder into the vessel, and a mechanism generating and moving a laser beam or an electron beam configured to give rise to selective melting of the powder in the vessel. The movable plate includes a tensioning mechanism tensioning in at least one direction parallel its plane.

Installation for fabricating parts by selective melting of powder

A method for producing a metal part, the part including, in particular, a first set of elements having a small thickness, and a second set of elements having a large thickness, the method including: forming a peripheral portion of the elements of the second set of elements by selectively melting a powder by scanning the surface of the powder layer with a laser beam or with an electron beam; using the peripheral portion of the elements of the second set of elements as a mould by carrying out an operation of filling an inner area defined by the peripheral portion with liquid metal; cooling the metal part to solidify the inner area defined by the peripheral portion and filled with metal.
