An application device is configured to clean grinding surfaces in a machine for grinding ophthalmic lenses, the application device including: a central portion having so as to mount the application device in the grinding machine; and a peripheral edge configured to receive an application surface to cooperate with the grinding surface of the grinding wheel so as to clean the grinding surface. It also relates to a cleaning kit including an application device and a cleaning solution, and to a method for cleaning grinding surfaces.

Application device and method to clean grinding surfaces in a machine for grinding ophthalmic lenses

A method for drilling an ophthalmic lens () includes the following steps: &#x2014;memorizing the desired shape and dimensions of a drill hole () to be drilled in the ophthalmic lens () and the position of the opening of this drill hole on one of the faces () of the ophthalmic lens; &#x2014;positioning a drilling tool () facing the memorized position of the hole to be drilled; &#x2014;determining a control setpoint for the transverse movement and axial advance of the drilling tool; and &#x2014;drilling the ophthalmic lens according to the control setpoint. The control setpoint for the transverse movement and axial advance of the drilling tool forces the point of this drilling tool, on at least one drilling run, to follow a helical or pseudohelical trajectory depending on the desired shape and dimensions of the drill hole. An associated drilling device is also described.

Method for drilling an ophthalmic lens in a helical trajectory and associated drilling device

A method for cutting-out a multi-layer ophthalmic lens () following a desired contour (C), includes: a step of pre-blanking the ophthalmic lens () using a preliminary tool (), according to a preliminary contour (CC); a step of blanking the ophthalmic lens () using a blanking wheel (), following a blanking contour (CC); and a step of finishing the ophthalmic lens () using a finishing tool (). According to the invention, the preliminary contour (CC) is larger than the desired contour (C), and the blanking wheel () used has a granulometry of between 0.1 and 0.5 mm and is controlled in relation to the ophthalmic lens () so as to apply a radial force of between 0.1 and 5 N to the ophthalmic lens () during the blanking step.

Method for cutting-out a multi-layer ophthalmic lens

A method for trimming an ophthalmic lens using a machining device having a load sensor for measuring a load relating to the load applied by a machine tool to the lens, includes: immobilizing the lens on an immobilizing element, and trimming the lens, while measuring the load magnitude and steering the machine tool relative to the immobilizing element so as to bring the initial contour of the ophthalmic lens to a final contour of a different shape. Between the immobilizing and trimming steps, the machine tool is steered relative to the immobilizing element so that it makes a tour around the lens without contact therewith, while measuring the unladen load magnitude, this relating to the load required to move the machine tool relative to the immobilizing element without performing machining work while steering the machine tool, during the trimming step, as a function of the unladen magnitude measured.
