An arrangement for cylinder detection in a four-stroke internal combustion engine is disclosed. The arrangement comprises a first disc connected to a crankshaft, the first disc comprising a first mark (M-M) within each an interspace angle (&#x3b1;), and a second disc connected to a camshaft and comprising one second mark (M-M) per number of cylinders. The first mark (M-M) is arranged on a first disc, or the plurality of first marks (M-M) are arranged in relation to each other on the first disc, and the second marks (M-M) are arranged in relation to each other on the second disc such that for each interspace angle (&#x3b1;) the relevant first mark (M-M) is detectable by a first sensor and the relevant second mark (M-M) is detectable by a second sensor at different relative rotational positions between the first disc and the second disc.

The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing aftertreatment of exhaust gases resulting from combustion, wherein at least a first substance resulting from said combustion is reduced by supplying additive to an exhaust gas stream resulting from said combustion and use of a first reduction catalytic converter. The method includes: estimating an accumulated expected reduction of said first substance during a first period of time, determining an accumulated actual reduction of said first substance during a period of time at least substantially overlapping said first period of time, and generating a signal indicating a fault in said reduction of said first substance when said accumulated actual reduction differs from said accumulated expected reduction by a predetermined difference in occurrence of said first substance. The invention also relates to a corresponding system.

A method for evaluating an effective component content (C) of a reducing agent for engine exhaust gas processing arranged in a container () in which a heat transfer provision arrangement () is provided, including steps of: determining (s; s) a prevailing volume (V) and temperature (T) of the reducing agent in the container (); determining (s) a prevailing temperature (T) of the heat transfer provision arrangement (); determining (s) a prevailing temperature (T) of a medium surrounding the container (); for a predetermined time period, determining (s) a mean temperature change rate (Tprim) for the reducing agent; and determining (s) the effective component content (C) of the reducing agent on the basis of the above determined parameters.
