Aspects are provided which allow an MA PDU session to establish over two 3GPP accesses respectively via different PLMNs associated with respective USIMs of a MUSIM device. During registration, the MUSIM UE may transmit a registration request to a base station of a first PLMN indicating a UE capability for a MA PDU session associated with a MUSIM device. The MA PDU session includes a plurality of PDU sessions associated with a single access type. Afterwards, the UE may transmit a PDU session establishment request for a first PDU session of the PDU sessions in the first PLMN and for a second PDU session of the PDU sessions in a second PLMN, where the first PLMN is associated with a first USIM of the UE, and the second PLMN is associated with a second USIM of the UE. Consequently, MA PDU sessions associated with MUSIM devices may be established.

Multi-access PDU sessions for multi-USIM devices

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may determine whether the UE is inside or outside of a vehicle with a relay device. Techniques for determining whether the UE is inside or outside of the vehicle are described herein. The UE may determine whether to camp on a cell of the relay device based on whether the UE is inside or outside the vehicle. The base station may perform connected mode mobility for the UE based on whether the UE is inside or outside the vehicle.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To communicate using non-restricted radio capabilities, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a UE capability message to a network (e.g., via a base station) that indicates a set of radio capabilities that the UE may use to communicate. The network may identify subscription information for the UE and may determine one or more restricted radio capabilities of the set of radio capabilities based on the subscription information for the UE. The network may transmit a message to the UE that includes a radio capability modification indication indicating the one or more restricted radio capabilities and a UE radio capability identifier corresponding to the subset of radio capabilities of the set of radio capabilities that are not restricted. The UE may receive the message, identify the restricted radio capabilities, and communicate with the network using the subset of non-restricted radio capabilities.

A method of wireless communications by a network determines whether a call initiator is in a list received from a UE (user equipment) in response to receiving a mobile terminated call for the UE. Various techniques and approaches described herein may be applied to control congestion at a session management (SM) function (SMF) based on at least one back-off timer maintained at a user equipment (UE). In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE may be configured to establish a protocol data unit (PDU) session with a SMF. The UE may be configured to determine whether a back-off timer associated with the PDU session is terminated. The UE may refrain from sending, to the SMF, data over a control plane associated with the PDU session when the back-off timer is unterminated. The UE may send, to the SMF, the data over the control plane associated with the PDU session when the back-off timer is terminated.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A multicast architecture may support flexible change between unicast and multicast operations and may support additional traffic types (e.g., Internet Protocol and Ethernet traffic). For example, the multicast architecture may include transmitting data over a shared multicast radio bearer (MRB) and/or specific data radio bearers (DRBs), a multicast user plane function (UPF) for supplying the multicast data to a base station, multicast data from different radio access networks (RANs), protecting the multicast data through creating a group key, ciphering the multicast data sent on the MRB using the group key, and transitioning the multicast data from a source RAN to a target RAN.

A wireless communications entity, such as a user equipment (UE), a base station, a network core, or an application server, may identify a round-trip time (RTT) latency requirement that may pertain to a round-trip latency in wireless communications between the UE and the base station. The wireless communications entity may identify a one one-way directional delay budget that satisfies the RTT latency requirement for an application of an application server. The application server may be in communication with the UE via the base station. The wireless communications entity may modify a value of the one-way directional delay budget and transmit a message that is associated with the modified value of the one one-way directional delay budget.
