The present invention relates to a method for oligomerization or polymerization of ethylene and/or alpha-olefins utilizing reactor equipment and other equipment wherein starting material comprising monomer(s), catalyst, cocatalyst and solvent is transferred to the reactor equipment via first piping, and product material comprising oligomer and/or polymer, non-reacted monomer(s), catalyst, cocatalyst and solvent is discharged from the reactor equipment via second piping, characterized in that the first piping, second piping, reactor equipment and/or other equipment are flushed with a product fraction obtained by said or a respective previous method prior to and/or after that oligomerization or polymerization method.

Method for operating bubble column reactor for the oligomerization of ethylene

The invention relates to a device for the reactive conversion of gaseous streams at high temperatures in excess of 1000&#xb0; C. Said device comprises a reaction chamber () with an inlet opening for the gaseous streams to be converted, in particular a burner head () and an outlet opening for the converted gaseous streams. In order to guarantee the highest possible conversion performance, the reaction chamber () has a narrow construction, extending longitudinally from the inlet opening to the outlet opening to form a controlled gaseous flow, thus preventing a circulatory flow in the reaction chamber (). To achieve reaction conditions that are as adiabatic as possible, the reaction chamber () is thermally insulated with a layer () that has a porous foam and/or fiber structure. In the simplest embodiment, the reaction chamber () is cylindrical, thus achieving a tubular flow reactor construction for the entire device.

Burner and method for the chemical reaction of two gas streams

A liquid seal for installation upstream of a flare stack or of a waste gas combustion installation to protect against flashback and to function as a pressure lock. During the operation of the seal, liquid is ejected upwardly from an inner annular chamber by a gas stream, and the ejected liquid is separated from the gas by a baffle plate and deflector arrangement so that the gas and liquid stream is directed downwardly, and a liquid film is formed which is broken down into individual streams by baffles. The gas escapes upwardly from the liquid seal in spaces between the streams of downwardly flowing liquid without entraining significant amounts of liquid. The downwardly directed liquid is collected in an outer annular chamber and flows into the inner annular chamber through a return opening to provide a constant circulation of liquid in the liquid seal.
