What are described are a polymer mixture or polymer blend comprising polybutylene succinate and polybutylene succinate-co-adipate, a composite material or compound comprising polybutylene succinate and polybutylene succinate-co-adipate and/or said polymer mixture or polymer blend and one or more filler constituents, an article and/or single-use article comprising or consisting of said composite material or compound, and processes for producing the aforementioned composite material or compound or the aforementioned article or single-use article. Also described are the use of the polymer mixture or polymer blend for production of said composite material or compound, and the use of the composite material or compound for production of an article or single-use article that is compostable in particular.

The invention relates to a multilayer film, especially sealing film, suitable as food packaging, especially as packaging for food containers, drinks capsules, coffee capsules or the like, wherein the film consists of at least one first layer and at least one second layer, wherein at least one of the layers of the film is a biodegradable and home-compostable plastic.

A method of producing a bioplastic granulate on the basis of sunflower seed shells or sunflower seed hulls. In the method, ground sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material is provided, wherein the particle size is in the region of 3 mm or less, preferably in the region of 0.01 to 1 mm, preferably in the region of 0.1 to 0.3 mm. A plastic material is provided, which is compounded with the sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material, wherein the compounding operation is preferably effected in an extruder, preferably a double-screw extruder. The compounded material is chopped at the end of the extruder section with a tool with the addition of water, wherein the water is at a temperature of preferably more than 50&#xb0; C., preferably about 80 to 90&#xb0; C., to cool down the compound material. During the compounding operation, the compounding material is subjected to atmospheric degassing and/or vacuum degassing.

Method of producing a bioplastic granulate based on sunflower seed shells/sunflower seed hull material on the one hand and a plastic material on the other hand

A process for producing a biomaterial product based on sunflower seed hulls/sunflower seed husks comprising providing or producing a sunflower plastic compound (SPC) compounded material (SPC PBS, SPC PBSA), wherein the material is obtained by compounding a sunflower seed hull material/sunflower seed husk material with a biodegradable plastic, for example polybutylene succinate (PBS), polybutylene succinate-adipate (PBSA), or the like. The SPC compounded material is preferably used for producing an injection molded product, for example biodegradable containers, packagings, films or the like, in particular coffee capsules, tea capsules, urns, cups, plant pots, flowerpots, or the like.
