A detection apparatus and a method are provided for detecting a respiratory movement of a patient. The detection apparatus includes at least two metallic U-shaped signal coupling elements that are interleaved so that between the signal coupling elements arises at least one coupling point at which a signal may be transferred between the two signal coupling elements. Analysis electronics are configured to detect a change in a received signal produced in a second of the signal coupling elements that is acting as a receiver in the near-field region of the first signal coupling elements as a result of a signal given for one of the signal coupling elements that is acting as a transmitter being coupled into the second of the signal coupling elements, which change indicates the respiratory movement.

A transmission system is disclosed for the contactless transmission of at least one electrical and/or electromagnetic signal from a first device part of a data-generating device to a second device part of the device by way of electrical and/or electromagnetic coupling. The first device part is set up to perform a movement relative to the second device part during operation. The transmission system includes a first transmission unit and a second transmission unit, either being arrangable on the first device part and the other being arrangable on the second device part. The first transmission unit includes a first coupler and a first auxiliary coupler and the second transmission unit includes a second coupler. For the electrical and/or electromagnetic coupling, the coupling strengths between the first coupler and the second coupler and between the first auxiliary coupler and the second coupler have different functional distance dependences.

An arrangement includes a superconducting split ring resonator, a cryostat, and a copper coil. The resonator is arranged in the cryostat and includes at least one ring-shaped conductor made of a superconducting material and including an opening and a taper. The copper coil may be used to transmit a MRI excitation signal. This signal causes a current to be induced in the conductor that leads to the breakdown of the superconductivity. The conductor is detuned and therefore no longer develops an interfering effect. It is possible for the effect of the breakdown of superconductivity to be used for detuning in a targeted manner. After the transmission is complete, the conductor returns into the superconducting state and acts as a superconducting reception antenna for the MRI measurement signal. The copper coil is inductively coupled to the conductor and configured to read out the signal induced in the conductor.

A method for controlling a signal with a plurality of independent components is provided. The signal is fed as an input signal via an input path to a control path that supplies an output signal. The output signal is fed via an output path to a control apparatus controlling the input signal. A coupling signal is determined in a coupling determination apparatus. On the basis of the coupling signal, the independent components are decoupled in a decoupling apparatus, as a result of which, a decoupled output signal is generated. Components of the decoupled output signal are decoupled from the components of the input signal. The decoupled output signal is fed as a control variable to the control apparatus. The control apparatus controls each independent component separately on the basis of a desired signal with a diagonal controller and outputs the input signal as a manipulated variable.

A facility is provided for the wireless resonant charging of rechargeable hearing instruments. The hearing instrument is freely positionable in a charging device for charging purposes. The charging device for the wireless charging has a transmit antenna arrangement, a transmit amplifier for actuating the transmit antenna arrangement and a charging space. The transmit antenna arrangement has two feeding points, which are spatially arranged in relation to the charging space such that a circularly polarized electromagnetic field can thus be generated in the charging space. The transmit amplifier actuates the antennas accordingly to generate a circularly polarized electromagnetic field in the charging space. In the process a coil arrangement generates a circularly polarized HF field. A good resonant coupling, even with a tilted hearing instrument, is possible, in other words with an undetermined and unpredictable orientation and position of the receive coil of the hearing instrument.

A magnetic resonance tomography apparatus includes a receiving device having a number of magnetic resonance receive antennas for receiving a magnetic resonance signal in response to a radio frequency signal transmitted at a magnetic resonance frequency. A respective magnetic resonance receive antenna is connected to a parametric mixer. A receive circuit formed hereby is provided inside the cryostat and is coupled via a contactless communication interface to an evaluation circuit provided outside the cryostat. The evaluation circuit includes a local oscillator device for generating an auxiliary signal at an auxiliary frequency. The auxiliary signal is transmitted via the contactless communication interface to the receive circuit. The receive circuit is configured such that a mixed signal having a mixed frequency is generated via the parametric mixer from the auxiliary signal and the magnetic resonance signal and transmitted via the contactless communication interface to the evaluation circuit.

To make the charging of hearing aids more convenient, a charging device for wirelessly charging a hearing aid is provided. The charging device has a cylindrical container, an integrated antenna for generating an alternating magnetic field in the container in the event of electrical excitation, and a charging circuit which can be used to electrically excite the antenna. The antenna is a birdcage antenna in which rods are arranged parallel to a cylinder axis on a cylinder jacket and the ends of the rods at the edges of the cylinder jacket are each connected to an end ring. A switching element is arranged in each of the rods. The charging circuit is used to alternately generate a circular magnetic field, in which case the switching elements are operated in a closed mode, and a linear magnetic field, in which case the switching elements are operated in an open mode.

An arrangement includes a plurality of split ring resonators on a planar substrate. Each split ring resonator of the plurality of split ring resonators includes two mutually parallel ring structures of a metal conductor element spaced apart by the substrate. The two mutually parallel rings structures are respectively separated by at least one gap. At least two split ring resonators of the plurality of split ring resonators are positionable relative to one another such that the separated ring structures may be reciprocally guided through a gap of the respective other ring structures and interlock. Overlap regions may be produced by common ring structure inner surfaces.
