The invention relates to a machining tool () for processing a bore in a workpiece, in particular for simultaneous processing of a plurality of bores distanced from one another by a predefined distance, said machining tool having a cutting body () extending in the direction of a tool longitudinal axis () and having at least one cutting element () arranged circumferentially, and a guide body (), which adjoins the cutting body () in the direction of the tool longitudinal axis (), is fastened to the cutting body () and has at least one circumferentially arranged guide element (). A reamer has a basic tool body made of hard metal () and a plate-like cutting insert () inserted into a recess () at the front. The cutting insert () is at least partially made of polycrystalline diamond, its cutting edges () situated axially offset relative to the cutting edges () on the basic tool body (), thus engaging with the workpiece later.

To make it possible for bores () that are in line with one another to be efficiently worked by means of a boring bar (), the boring bar has a main body () with an axis of rotation (R) and a number of cutting elements (A) at intervals from one another in the axial direction () and also guiding elements () for guiding the main body () in a guiding bore (A). The guiding elements () are kept at a distance from the axis of rotation (R) equivalent to a guide radius (r). The main body () is divided into a functional region () and an eccentric region (), wherein the cutting elements (A) and the guiding elements () are arranged such that they are distributed around the main body () over an angular range (a) of less than 180&#xb0;. Furthermore, the circumferential side () of the main body () can be passed eccentrically through a respective bore (A) of which the unworked tube radius (r) is less than the guide radius (r).

The reaming tool comprises a cutting part having a peripherally arranged reaming cutter which, upon rotation about a center axis of the reaming tool, defines a cutting circle of nominal diameter. The reaming tool further comprises at least two peripherally arranged guide elements, which lie on a guide circle arranged eccentrically to the center axis or having a larger diameter than the cutting circle. As a result of this measure, high surface quality is obtained, in particular even in soft materials, since the reaming tool is clamped in the direction of the reaming cutter.
