A light module for a motor vehicle includes a light source and a printed circuit supporting a converter circuit intended to supply the light source with electricity. The converter circuit includes at least one electronic power component. A first face of the printed circuit houses a first part of the converter circuit, and a second face of the printed circuit houses a second part of the converter circuit. The at least one electronic power component is integrated into the substrate of the printed circuit.

A motor vehicle lighting system includes a light source, a multi-phase interleaved power converter having a plurality of selectively activatable elementary converters, each of which is configured to generate an electrical signal having its own phase. The power converter is designed to supply electrical power to the light source, and controller is designed to selectively control each of the elementary converters of the power converter. The controller is designed to receive an emission command for the emission of a desired light beam by the light source and to activate a strictly necessary number of elementary converters of the power converter such that the power converter supplies, to the light source, an electrical power needed to emit the desired light beam.

A lighting system for a motor vehicle with a pixelated light source having a plurality of selectively activatable elementary light sources is described. The activation of each elementary light source being controlled exclusively by a switch assigned to the elementary light source. The lighting system also includes an electrical current sensor designed to measure the electrical current supplied by the power converter to the pixelated light source and to transmit information relating to said measured current to the controller.

According to the provisions of the invention, the external face of the housing may be connected to ground potential so as to act as a shield against the electromagnetic waves emitted by various electronic components.

A device and a method for controlling the electrical power supply of a plurality of light sources, preferably of light-emitting diodes, or LEDs. The plurality of light sources is divided into at least two groups of light sources. The invention is noteworthy in that it allows the use of a multiphase step-up voltage converter for all the groups of light sources, whereas the measurements of the input currents for each of the phases of the converter give a reliable indication of the level of power required by one of the groups being powered.

A method and a device for gradually controlling the illuminating light intensity of light-emitting diodes by modulating the width of current pulses of defined duty cycle, using a DC-to-DC voltage converter and a control circuit for switching the supply current of the light-emitting diodes. Prior to switching the power supply of the diodes the DC-to-DC converter is initiated (A), so as to generate voltage pulses of defined duty cycle; the steady state of each pulse is determined (B), so as to generate a voltage pulse (CP) calibrated to a voltage level substantially corresponding to the steady-state level; and then the light-emitting diodes are powered (D) by applying each calibrated pulse to the light-emitting diodes by means of the switchable control circuit.

A process and a device for controlling a plurality of LED assemblies of an automotive vehicle, each LED assembly (Gi) executing a specific lighting/signalling function. The electrical power level (Pi) delivered by the electrical source is modulated according to distinct power levels (Pi) with relation to the function associated with each LED assembly (Gi) and temporary multiplexing is executed in order to successively transmit the distinct power levels (Pi) to the assemblies (Gi) over a multiplexing period (Tmux). Demultiplexing is effected and each distinct electrical power level (Pi) is selectively delivered to the LED assembly (Gi) concerned.
