Articles may be formed from a thermoformable composition, the thermoformable composition including: a) about 35 wt % to about 95 wt % of an acrylic pre-polymerized syrup; b) about 0 wt % to about 10 wt % of a comonomer; and c) about 5 wt % to about 65 wt % of a filler having an average particle size (d50) in a range of about 0.1 μm to about 50 μm; wherein the article has a surface having a gloss measurement at a 60° measurement angle within a range of about 0 Gloss Units to about 20 Gloss Units, and a roughness Ra within a range of about 1 microinch to about 100 microinches. Methods may include producing a thermoformed article by the steps of: i) preparing a thermoformable composition; ii) casting the thermoformable composition into a sheet; and iii) thermoforming the cast sheet against a mold to produce a thermoformed article.

Resin blends useful for pipe and blow-molded articles are disclosed. The blends comprise a low-molecular-weight, high-density polyethylene and a high-molecular-weight, low-density ethylene copolymer. The high-molecular-weight component is made with a bridged indenoindolyl Group 4 metal complex having open architecture. Polyethylene pipe resins

A slurry process for polymerizing ethylene is disclosed. The process comprises polymerizing ethylene in a first reactor in the presence of hydrogen and a catalyst comprising an activator and a supported dimethylsilyl-bridged indeno[1,2-b]indolyl zirconium complex to produce an ethylene homopolymer, removing some of the unreacted hydrogen, and reacting the homopolymer slurry in a second reactor with ethylene and a C-C&#x3b1;-olefin to produce polyethylene. The polyethylene has weight-average molecular weight greater than 150,000, broad molecular weight distribution, low long-chain branching, and it provides pipes or molded articles with good environmental stress crack resistance.
