A device is provided having a structure for conducting a first fluid, the structure having in addition an interface for conducting a second fluid. The first fluid can be brought into contact with the second fluid at the interface of the structure. A flow interrupter () for interrupting a flow of the second fluid is situated at the interface of the structure.

Contactor

A mixer duct for mixing of a turbulent flow includes an inlet, an outlet in fluid communication with the inlet, and at least one static mixer element located between the inlet and the outlet. The at least one static mixer element includes at least two at least substantially coplanar plate-like segments spaced apart by a substantially longitudinal gap. Each segment is attached to a duct wall and comprises at least two free edges, with one free edge being a leading edge and the other free edge adjacent to the longitudinal gap. The at least two segments are inclined relative to a duct axis so that their leading edge is oriented up-stream in the mixer duct and substantially perpendicular to a direction of a main fluid flow.

Mixer duct and process of operation

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing molded articles consisting of at least one molded article layer, said method comprising the steps of a) putting a layer support in place for accommodating at least one molded article layer; b) applying a molded article layer to a printing plate using a shaping tool; c) positioning the printing plate and the layer support or a previously produced molded article layer relative to one another; d) curing the molded article layer such that said layer becomes a previously molded article layer, and transferring the molded article layer; e) if necessary, putting the printing plate in place for accommodating additional molded article layers and repeating steps b) to d). The invention further relates to an apparatus for carrying out the disclosed method as well as to the use of molded articles obtained thereby.

Layer-by-layer production of molded articles

One aspect of the invention relates to a molding which is flow-passable by a fluid in at least one flow direction. The molding comprises a multiplicity of mutually parallel successive layers. Each layer includes clearances and at least one mating face toward a following or a preceding layer. Each clearance of one layer overlaps at least one region of the clearance of a following or preceding layer. On account thereof, the layers collectively configure step-shaped webs in the molding. The molding comprises at least two such webs. Moreover, the present invention relates to manufacturing methods for manufacturing said moldings, and the use of said moldings and reactors which comprise said moldings.

Three-dimensional moulding

A static devolatilization apparatus () for germ reduction of a fluid is disclosed. The apparatus () comprises a housing (), an inlet (), an outlet (), a fluid-contacting surface () comprising a biocide () embodied to reduce the germ count of the fluid (), wherein the fluid-contacting surface () is a fluid-contacting surface () of a static mixing element (). The present invention further relates to a process for reducing the germ count of a fluid containing germs (') using the apparatus () and also to the use of the apparatus () in the germ reduction of fuel oil, of food products, or water decontamination, preferably decontamination of waste water, industrial process water, or the treatment of drinking water.

Apparatus for germ reduction of a fluid and a process for use thereof

A static mixing element for installation in a hollow body () includes a plurality of bar elements, with a first arrangement () including at least one first bar element () and being arranged cross-wise with respect to a second arrangement () which includes at least one second bar element (). The first arrangement () and the second arrangement () include an angle different from 0&#xb0; to the main direction of flow. The first arrangement includes an angle larger than 0&#xb0; with the second arrangement. On projection of the first arrangement () and of the second arrangement () onto a projection plane which is disposed normal to the main direction of flow, intermediate spaces are disposed at least partly between mutually adjacent bar elements.

Static mixing element

A roll is described, particularly a roll for crushing or de-agglomerating different materials. It can be used in all situations where deformations of the roll ends, in association with a constant roll gap, constitute a problem, particularly at high roll loadings. The object of the invention is to further develop a roll of this type so that variable adjustments or a constant roll gap are possible at different operating stages. This object is achieved in that the roll consists of a core and a roll shell, wherein elastic elements are disposed between the core and the roll shell.
