Dynamic indication of multi-Transmission/Reception Point (TRP) Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission is provided. A solution is proposed to use an antenna port field (e.g., a Demodulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) port indication field) in Downlink Control Information (DCI) to jointly indicate both the DM-RS ports and the scheme used for a PDSCH transmission. When more than one Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) state is indicated in a DCI, a new DM-RS table is used in which a DM-RS port allocation is also linked to a transmission scheme. The solution enables flexible PDSCH scheduling without introducing additional DCI overhead.

Dynamic indication of multi-TRP PDSCH transmission schemes

Embodiments include methods for a network node to activate semi-persistent sounding reference signal (SP-SRS) resources for transmission by a user equipment (UE). Such methods include sending, to the UE, a control message comprising configuration of a set of SP-SRS resources associated with a particular serving cell of the wireless communication network. Such methods include sending to the UE a further control message for activating the configured set of SP-SRS resources. The further control message includes information identifying an SP-SRS resource of the set of SP-SRS resources to be activated, and an indication of the identified SP-SRS resource's spatial relation with a further resource that is not associated with the particular serving cell. The indication comprising an identity of a further serving cell that is different from the particular serving cell and that is associated with the further resource. Other embodiments include complementary methods for a UE.

Cross-carrier spatial relation indication for semi-persistent sounding reference signal (SP-SRS) resources

Embodiments include methods, by a user equipment (UE), for receiving physical data channel transmissions from a wireless network. Such methods include receiving, from the wireless network, configuration information including: a first indication of one or more frequency-domain resource allocations for respective corresponding one or more physical data channel transmissions by respective corresponding one or more sources configured by the wireless network, and one or more second indications of further characteristics of the physical data channel transmissions. Such methods also include, based on the second indications, determining the number of frequency-domain resource allocations indicated by the first indication. Such methods also include receiving, from the wireless network, the determined number of physical data channel transmissions based on the respective indicated frequency-domain resource allocations. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by a wireless network, and UEs and wireless networks configured to perform such methods.

Frequency-domain resource allocation for multi-source transmission

Systems and methods for early Channel State Information (CSI) feedback in New Radio (NR) are provided. In embodiments of the disclosure, CSI reporting is performed during a random access procedure to provide early CSI feedback and enable more efficient data transmission with higher spectral efficiency in earlier communications. In some examples, CSI reporting can be reported on Message 3 of the random access procedure after measuring channel and/or interference on a CSI Reference Signal (RS) (CSI-RS) during the random access procedure. The proposed solution allows early CSI to be triggered when a User Equipment (UE) performs initial access to a serving cell. With the early CSI acquired, the network can perform proper link adaptation including Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) precoding, and ensure efficient data transmission without having to wait until connection setup and configuration of the CSI framework is established.

Systems and methods for early CSI feedback in NR

A method is performed by a wireless device for transmitting a Sounding Reference Signal, SRS. The method comprises receiving downlink control information triggering an aperiodic SRS transmission, and identifying a slot indicated by the downlink control information. If the slot indicated by the downlink control information is a downlink slot, the wireless device transmits the SRS in a slot that is not a downlink slot.

A method performed by a wireless device () is disclosed. The wireless device obtains () a configuration for a sub-band channel quality indicator (CQI) granularity and a sub-band precoding matrix indicator (PMI) granularity for the wireless device. The wireless device determines () channel state information (CSI) feedback according to the configured sub-band CQI granularity and the sub-band PMI granularity. The sub-band PMI granularity corresponds to a first sub-band size and the sub-band CQI granularity corresponds to a second sub-band size. The first sub-band size is smaller than the second sub-band size. The wireless device transmits (), to a network node (), the determined CSI feedback.

Independent sub-band size for precoding matrix indicator and channel quality indicator

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for transmitting or receiving a plurality of physical data channels in a wireless network. Such methods include receiving, from the wireless network, an indication of a Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) state that includes one or more source reference signal (RS) pairs. Each source RS pair has a pair of quasi-colocation (QCL) relations with antenna ports, for demodulation reference signals (DM-RS), that are mapped to a plurality of code-division multiplexing (CDM) groups. Such methods include receiving/transmitting the physical data channels based on the QCL relations for the source RS pairs of the indicated TCI state. Each physical data channel corresponds to a CDM group and is received/transmitted in association with the DM-RS having antenna ports mapped to the corresponding CDM group. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by a wireless network, and UEs and wireless networks configured to perform such methods.

Code-division multiplexing (CDM) groups for multi-source transmission

A method, wireless device and network node for performing sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission. According to one aspect a method includes receiving a definition of one or more SRS resource sets to be configured, comprising at least one SRS transmission setting. The method further includes receiving an indication of a selected SRS resource set to use for a SRS transmission, from the one or more configured SRS resource sets and determining a precoding configuration for the SRS transmission based on the selected SRS resource set and the at least one SRS transmission setting. The method also includes transmitting a SRS according to the determined precoding configuration.

Sounding reference transmission

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for communicating via a plurality of nodes in a wireless network. Such methods include receiving a plurality of Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) states, and receiving, via a single physical control channel, scheduling information for a plurality of physical data channels carrying a respective plurality of repetitions of a data block. The physical data channels can be respective layers of a PDSCH, or each physical data channel can be a subset of all layers of a PDSCH. Such methods include assigning one or more of the TCI states to the plurality of repetitions, and receiving the plurality of repetitions via the plurality of physical data channels based on the scheduling information and the assigned TCI states. Embodiments also include complementary methods performed by a wireless network, as well as UEs and wireless networks configured to perform such methods.

Repetition for ultra-reliable low-latency communications

A wireless device, a network node and methods are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes receiving an indication of a maximum power level associated with a spatial-domain basis vector. The method includes determining whether a combination of values of the plurality of amplitude coefficients results in exceeding the maximum power level. The method further includes, responsive to determining that a combination of values of the plurality of amplitude coefficients results in exceeding the maximum power level, not reporting the combination of values in a channel state information, CSI, report.

A method, network node and wireless device for transmitting and decoding repeated physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) messages are disclosed. According to one embodiment a method implemented in a wireless device (WD) includes receiving multiple transmissions of a PDCCH message, each of the multiple transmissions of the PDDCH message being repeated in a repetition set. The method further includes monitoring the multiple received PDCCH transmissions to obtain scheduling information for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) reception.

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for low overhead CSI feedback for multi-trp transmissions. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a wireless device includes receiving a configuration of a channel state information, CSI, report setting for at least K>1 non-zero power channel state information reference signal, NZP CSI-RS, resources for channel measurement and a report quantity configuration, K being an integer; receiving a CSI feedback report request for CSI measurement and feedback based at least in part on the CSI report setting; measuring channels based at least in part on the NZP CSI-RS resources; and sending a channel state information, CSI, feedback report based at least in part on: the channel measurements; and the report quantity configuration; and the CSI feedback report comprising at least one of a first CSI feedback and a second CSI feedback.

Low overhead channel state information (CSI) feedback for multi-transmission point (TRP) transmission

Systems and methods for signaling for Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) diversity are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for receiving a plurality of downlink transmissions includes determining an association between one or more Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) ports and one or more associated Redundancy Values (RVs). The method also includes receiving the plurality of downlink transmissions using the association. In some embodiments, this enables a single Downlink Control Information (DCI) to be used to schedule different redundancy versions of the same transport block from the different Transmission/Reception Points (TRPs) which helps improve reliability of decoding a transmission successfully within stringent latency requirements.

Systems and methods for signaling PDSCH diversity by determining associations between DMRS ports and RV's

According to one aspect, a network node configured to communicate with a wireless device is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to: transmit a plurality of beamformed reference signals, each of the plurality of beamformed reference signals being associated with a respective sector of a cell; receive at least one uplink signal from the wireless device; select one of the plurality of beamformed reference signals for the wireless device to monitor based at least in part on the received at least one uplink signal; and transmit an indication configured to cause the wireless device to monitor the selected one of the plurality of beamformed reference signals.

Performance improvement for UE with limited CSI-RS capability via reciprocity based sector selection

A method for differentiating multiple Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission schemes. In a non-limiting example, the PDSCH transmission schemes include a spatial multiplexing transmission scheme, a frequency multiplexing transmission scheme, a slot-based time multiplexing transmission scheme, and a mini-slot-based time multiplexing transmission scheme. In examples discussed herein, a User Equipment (UE) can be configured to differentiate the PDSCH transmission schemes based on information indicated in Downlink Control Information (DCI) for scheduling a PDSCH transmission, information signaled to the UE via a higher layer configuration, and/or capability signaling indicated from the UE to a network. By differentiating the PDSCH transmission schemes, the UE can efficiently receive a data transmission(s) from multiple Transmission/Reception Points (TRPs).
