A steam generator has a water container and an upper heating device and a lower heating device, a first temperature detection device covering a temperature detection area including the area covered by the two heating devices, a control device for monitoring and evaluating the first temperature detection device and for controlling the activation state of the two heating devices. A flat first temperature detection device covers the outside of the container, and a second spot-like temperature sensor is located on the water container in a region of an upper border of the upper heating device. Both temperature detection devices are used to activate and deactivate the two heating devices such that at first the lower heating device is activated to start generating steam as fast as possible.

A steam generator has a water container and an upper heating device and a lower heating device, a first temperature detection device covering a temperature detection area including the area covered by the two heating devices, a control device for monitoring and evaluating the first temperature detection device and for controlling the activation state of the two heating devices. For operation of the steam generator, water is filled into the container, at least one of the two heating devices is activated for generating steam for an operation of a steam household device, wherein finally this operation is over. Then at least the lower heating device is activated, until the first temperature detection device detects that a pre-defined first temperature threshold has been reached, upon which the lower heating device is deactivated. Remaining water is pumped off from the water container for a pre-defined first pumping duration.

Method of operating a steam generator, steam generator and cooking device

In a method for operating a heating device, fluid is initially introduced into a fluid chamber, then the heating elements of the heating device are switched on and a leakage current is detected as a temperature-dependent current flow through a dielectric insulation layer. A supply voltage of the heating devices is measured and is taken into account in an evaluation of the temperature at the fluid chamber as a function of the leakage current. The leakage current is converted into a leakage voltage by means of a resistor, which is then divided by the measured supply voltage. Subsequently, the quotient obtained may be multiplied by a compensation value in order to obtain a normalized leakage signal, which is normalized to a base value of the supply voltage. The normalized leakage signal is used, if a particular absolute value of the leakage signal is exceeded or if a particular slope of the profile of the leakage signal is exceeded, in order to top up the fluid chamber with more fluid and/or to reduce the heating power of at least one heating element.

A system for producing a cooked food item or foodstuff includes a printing chamber having a mobile printhead for extruding a printing mass, and a cooking chamber having a device for cooking the printing mass. A mobile tray can be moved between printing chamber and cooking chamber by a movement mechanism. A control unit is configured to permit the mobile tray to be disposed below the printhead for generating a spatial configuration of the printing mass in the printing chamber, and to actuate the printhead for generating a spatial configuration of the printing mass on the tray. The control unit is configured to actuate the movement mechanism to transfer the mobile tray with the printing mass into the cooking chamber and to actuate the cooking device to produce a cooked food item by cooking the printing mass.
