A method for protecting a computer program product, the computer program product being configured for operation in an operating environment (e.g., a virtual operating environment), includes: detecting at least one operating parameter of the operating environment in which the computer program product is executed, the at least one operating parameter having been defined outside of the operating environment; comparing the detected at least one operating parameter to a comparison value stored for each operating parameter; and outputting a warning signal if a plurality of comparison results exceeds a predetermined threshold value, wherein the comparison results indicate an execution of the computer program product in a different operating environment.

A device to provide data of an autonomous system is configured to receive, from the autonomous system, data that are generated by the autonomous system, and to send the received data to an archiving device for storage. The archiving device is arranged external to the autonomous system and is independent of the operation of the autonomous system. The device provides the stored data for an independent evaluation device. An improved data provision is ensured by the storage of the data accumulating in the autonomous system, independent of the operation of the autonomous system. The provided data can be used for maintenance or setup of the autonomous system. An autonomous system includes such a device, and a method to provide data of an autonomous system; and a method to produce an autonomous system operate by using such a device.

A method allows message transmission in a peer-to-peer network using chord topology, in which some of the nodes have access protection which allows reception of messages only from those network addresses to which a message has previously been sent. A network such as this is dependent on each node maintaining a list with further nodes, referred to in general as a finger list. In order to allow communication despite access protection, each node sends a request at fixed time intervals to the nodes in its list, to send it a message. This makes it possible for each node to send messages to the nodes in its list. A search request for a file is passed on via intermediate nodes in the network such that the searching node is provided with access to a destination node which can offer the file, and the access protection of the destination node is cancelled.

In a method for the management of tasks in a decentralized data network with a plurality of nodes for carrying out the tasks, resources are distributed based on a mapping rule, in particular a hash function. A task that is to be suspended is distributed by dividing the process image of the task into segments and by distributing the segments over the nodes using the mapping rule. Thus, a distributed swap space is created so that tasks can also be carried out on nodes whose swap space is not sufficient on its own. The method can be used in embedded systems with a limited storage capacity and/or in a voltage distribution system, wherein the nodes are, for example, switching units in the voltage distribution system. The method can also be used in any other technical systems such as, for example, a power generation system, an automation system and the like.
