The inventive device comprises a positioning device () for a fitting head (). The positioning device is anchored on a support (), which is detachably fastened to a supporting body () of the inventive device. A control device () for the positioning device () is additionally fastened to the support. These functional parts form a completely operative functional unit, which can be separately tested, calibrated and supplied by the supporting body (). Different supports () for different positioning devices () can be fastened to the supporting body (), whereby the inventive device can be optimally adapted to perform different fitting tasks.
