A magnetic switching arrangement including a first contact, a second contact, at least one of the first and second contacts including a magnetically responsive material, a biaser operably connected to one of the first and second contacts and biasing the one of the first and second contact into electrical connection with the other of the first and second contacts such that a closed circuit is achieved in the absence of an external force preventing closure of the first and second contacts, and a disconnector maintaining the first and second contacts spaced from one another, preventing formation of a circuit. A method for operating a tool including applying or removing a magnetic field configuration and causing a first and second contact within the tool to make electrical contact. A borehole system including a borehole in a subsurface formation, and disposed in the borehole.

A liner hanger running system including a liner hanger having a body including a wall defined by an outer surface and an inner surface. The body includes an opening that extends through the outer surface and the inner surface. A piston housing including a wall portion defined by an outer surface portion and an inner surface portion is spaced from the outer surface of the body to define a piston Chamber exposed to the opening. A piston is arranged in the piston chamber. A liner hanger running tool including a dog key extends into the opening and engages the piston. The dog key is selectively shiftable relative to the liner hanger to release the piston and expose the opening to a setting pressure.

An apparatus for retaining and releasing a pump down plug includes an outer housing having a recess and a shifting sleeve that contains the pump down plug and is disposed within the outer housing. The shifting sleeve is configured to slide within the outer housing. The apparatus also includes a retaining element configured to engage the pump down plug to retain the pump down plug, the retaining element being restrained from outward movement by the outer housing in a first position of the shifting sleeve, wherein sliding the shifting sleeve into a second position results in outward movement of the retaining element into the recess to release the pump down plug.

A method of completing a subsea wellbore includes providing one or more conductor anchoring assemblies on an outer surface of a conductor; forming the subsea wellbore; positioning the conductor in the subsea wellbore; and energizing the one or more conductor anchoring assemblies into contact with the subsea wellbore, thereby stabilizing the conductor in the subsea wellbore. In yet another embodiment, the method further includes extending the subsea wellbore; positioning a casing inside the conductor, wherein the casing includes a casing anchoring assembly; and energizing the casing anchoring assembly into contact with the conductor.
