A monument assembly for a vehicle and method for attaching a monument assembly to an aircraft. The monument assembly is capable of being a heavily loaded interior monument enclosure for an aircraft that includes a load bearing structural frame to be attached to a floor of the aircraft. The monument assembly includes a plurality of support members connected together and a set of floor fittings connected to the plurality of support members. The set of floor fittings configured to be connected to the vehicle. A plurality of non-loadbearing panels is connected to the plurality of support members. A load path of the monument assembly is carried by the plurality of support members and not the plurality of panels.

Aircraft interior monument enclosure

An example floor panel for a flooring system in a passenger vehicle includes a top sheet, a bottom sheet, a body situated between the top sheet and the bottom sheet, and an interlocking feature that extends outward from the body for slidably engaging an adjacent floor panel. An example flooring system in a passenger vehicle includes a first set of floor panels including panels rigidly attached to a structure of the passenger vehicle, and a second set of floor panels and each floor panel of the second set of floor panels has an interlocking feature for slidably engaging an adjacent floor panel and for enabling lateral relative motion to occur and restricting vertical relative motion between panels of the second set of floor panels and a respective adjacent floor panel.

Floor panels and flooring systems for a passenger vehicle, and methods for installation

An example floor covering system in a passenger vehicle is described that includes a plurality of floor covering panels positioned adjacent to each other creating interfaces between respective floor covering panels of the plurality of floor covering panels, a plurality of joint panels positioned underneath one or more of the interfaces and the plurality of floor covering panels are rigidly coupled to at least one of the plurality of joint panels to prevent relative motion between the plurality of floor covering panels, and a plurality of attachment mounts attached to a structure of the passenger vehicle. Each of the plurality of floor covering panels is coupled to one or more of the plurality of attachment mounts, and the plurality of attachment mounts enable lateral movement relative to the structure of the passenger vehicle of the plurality of floor covering panels together in a joint manner.

Floor covering systems in a passenger vehicle and methods for installation

A hybrid underlayment including a compliant material layer and a rigid material layer affixed to the compliant material layer. The compliant material layer exhibits a compression deflection as measured according to ASTM standard D-1056-14 in the range of from about 0.14 kilogram force per square centimeter to about 1.76 kilogram force per square centimeter, and a thickness of at least about 2 millimeters. The rigid material layer exhibits a thickness of at least about 0.5 millimeters and a flexural modulus of at least about 600 MPa and flexural strength of at least about 35 MPa in both the length and width directions, both flexural modulus and flexural strength as measured according to ASTM D790-17.

Hybrid underlayment for non textile floor covering

Apparatus and methods for retaining a foldable curtain in a stowed position. A curtain retention bracket comprises a U-shaped chambered body having high torsional stiffness and a clasp comprising a flexible strap. The clasp has one end configured to be pivotably coupled to one arm of the U-shaped chambered body and another end configured to be latchable onto the other arm of the U-shaped chambered body. The clasp can be easily opened and closed manually using one hand. The geometry of the clasp is such that forces exerted on it by the stowed curtain cause it to pull tighter closed. The U-shaped chambered body may be produced using an additive manufacturing process.

Curtain retention bracket

Apparatus and methods provide a spring clip for use in a bracket assembly, such as a bracket assembly used to secure a ceiling panel to an aircraft or other vehicle or structure. According to embodiments described herein, a spring clip may include a spring portion according to a configuration of a space formed between a gonzo and a hinge.
