A catheter assembly includes an elongate member and a balloon. The elongate member defines at least one lumen and an outer surface. The outer surface defines at least one opening in fluid communication with the at least one lumen. The balloon is disposed within the at least one lumen. The balloon is inflatable such that a portion of the balloon expands from the at least lumen through the at least one opening. The expansion of the balloon increases the flow restriction through the at least one opening compared to the flow restriction through the at least one opening when the balloon is in a deflated condition. Methods for using a catheter assembly to remove occlusive material from a catheter are also described.

Controlling catheter flow

An occlusion treatment device is disclosed that is configured and dimensioned for the treatment of a lumen that is at least partially blocked by an occlusion. The occlusion treatment device comprises a catheter including a body portion with proximal and distal ends, at least one expandable element that is secured to the body portion of the catheter, and a material removal element that extends distally from the distal end of the body portion including a debriding member in communication with an energy source to facilitate selective energizing of the debriding member. The catheter is axially movable through the lumen, and rotatable within the lumen, such that the material removal element selectively imparts non-mechanical and/or mechanical energy to the occlusion to effect debriding of the occlusion.

Electro-mechanical intravascular device

An indeflator for inflating a therapeutic balloon. A barrel has an interior chamber that receives fluid and an outlet in fluid communication with the interior chamber. A plunger sealingly engages the interior of the barrel. The plunger is selectively movable to dispense fluid through the outlet of the barrel. A coarse inflation control assembly includes a coarse inflation actuator that rotates about a coarse rotational axis to dispense fluid through the barrel at an inverse coarse inflation rate. A fine inflation control assembly includes a fine inflation actuator selectively rotatable about a fine rotational axis to dispense fluid through the outlet at an inverse fine inflation rate. The inverse fine inflation rate is greater than the inverse coarse inflation rate.

Indeflator for inflating therapeutic balloons

A catheter assembly includes an elongated main body defining two or more longitudinal lumens including distally positioned openings. One or more side-ports are defined in the main body communicating with at least one of the two or more longitudinal lumens. The catheter assembly also includes an inflatable balloon disposed around a portion of the main body. The inflatable balloon includes a distal end disposed substantially adjacent to a proximal side of one or more side-ports. The inflatable balloon in the inflated state is adapted to extend at partially over the one or more side-ports.

Dialysis catheter assembly

A tissue treatment apparatus for restoring patency in a body vessel is provided. The tissue treatment apparatus includes an elongated catheter dimensioned for insertion within a body vessel having an at least partial occlusion. Proximal and distal expandable segments are mounted to the elongated catheter and are positionable adjacent the occlusion and are configured to transition from a first condition to a second expanded condition. A mesh in operative engagement with the proximal and distal expandable segments is expandable radially outwardly from the catheter upon corresponding transition of the proximal and distal expandable segments to the second condition. The mesh includes a conductive material adapted to transmit electrosurgical energy to treat and facilitate removal of the occlusion, to thereby assist in restoring patency within the body vessel.
