Razor handle

A novel razor cartridge includes at least one non-cutting element disposed anywhere within a blade array between a guard and a cap and/or in a blade position of a frame providing skin/hair management. This non-cutting element allows the fine-tuning of parameters such as blade-skin contact, hair orientation, blade spans and rinse-through gaps in manners that improve shaving comfort, closeness, efficiency, and/or rinse-ability. The non-cutting element may include projections, fin-like elements, comb-like features having teeth, exfoliation or lubricating capabilities. By having a fixed non-cutting element disposed midway in a blade array, a multi-stage cartridge is provided with a middle control point with potentially different functionality before and after the non-cutting element. The non-cutting element is not attached to another blade in the blade array though it may be manufactured as a modified blade support, attached to a blade support, or as part of the frame or the clips.

The invention features a razor for dispensing a fluid during shaving. The razor includes a razor cartridge that is engageable to a handle. The razor cartridge has a housing, a cartridge connecting structure attached to the housing; at least one blade positioned in the housing; and an aperture that extends from the rear surface to the front surface of the housing. The handle has a cavity for housing a fluid; a manually-actuated pump located along the length of the handle, and a fluid dispensing member having a channel in fluid communication with the pump and having an opening at a terminal end. The fluid dispensing member projects outwardly from the proximal end of the handle such that the terminal end extends to or adjacent to the aperture in the housing. Actuation of the pump displaces fluid from the cavity to or adjacent to the front surface of the housing.

Manually actuable liquid dispensing razor

A shaving razor blade unit including a housing having a primary guard at a front of the housing and a primary cap at an upper surface at a back of the housing. One or more primary shaving blades are positioned between the primary guard and the primary cap. A trimming blade is mounted at the back of the housing and has a cutting edge. A trimming comb guard is located at the back of the housing. The trimming comb guard has a plurality of projections along a length of the trimming comb guard defining a plurality of open slots extending generally perpendicular to the cutting edge. The open slots have a minimum width of about 0.20 mm to about 0.49 mm for allowing the free passage of hair during shaving.

The invention features a razor for dispensing a fluid during shaving. The razor includes a handle, a razor cartridge, and a fluid dispensing member joined to the cartridge. The handle includes a cavity for housing a fluid and a manually-actuated pump to displace the fluid from the cavity through a supply channel to an opening at the proximal end of the handle. The razor cartridge includes a cartridge connecting structure attached to the housing, at least one blade positioned in the housing, and an aperture that extends from the rear surface to the front surface of the housing. The fluid dispensing member has a dispensing channel with an opening at a supply end and an opening at a dispensing end. The supply end is configured to engage the opening in the supply channel. The dispensing end projects outwardly and extends to or adjacent to the aperture in the housing.

A wet shaving cartridge is provided having a housing having a guard located at a front end of the housing and a cap located at a rear end of the housing. The cartridge further has two or more elongate blades located between the guard and cap and extending in a direction substantially parallel to a length of the guard, wherein edges of the respective blades lie in a shaving plane extending between the guard and the cap. A shaving aid retention member is located in the cap. The retention member has a base arranged to receive a shaving aid and a front wall located at a side of the retention member adjacent the blades. The front wall extends from the base of the retention member towards the shaving plane.

Razor cartridge

A shaving cartridge has a housing with at least one blade having a blade edge. A first guard is in front of the blade. The first guard has a plurality of projections defining a plurality of open slots extending generally transverse to the blade edge. Each slot has a leading end portion for receiving hairs and a trailing end portion for feeding the hairs to the blade. The projections are stepped with a height of the projections that define the leading end portion of the slots that is less than a height of the projections that define the trailing end portion of the slots.

A shaving cartridge has a housing with at least one blade having a blade edge. The housing has a first guard in front of the blade with a plurality of projections defining a plurality of open slots extending generally transverse to the blade edge. The open slots have a width of about 0.20 mm to about 0.49 mm and a pitch of about 0.40 mm to about 0.85 mm for allowing the free passage of hair during shaving.

A razor, especially a safety razor, comprises a fluid delivery system including a pump () for conducting a fluid, such as a lubricant, from a reservoir () for application to the skin, and a control device () for actuating the pump () when the razor is brought into contact with the skin by a person holding the razor, and deactuating the pump () after a certain time of actuation, e.g. 0.1 to 2 seconds. The control device is arranged to ensured a delay of 1 to 10 seconds between successive actuations, and so that the pump is actuated only every second third or fourth shaving stroke.

Razors

A shaving razor has a housing joined to a handle, one or more blades mounted in the housing and a light source. The light source projects a defined image indicating the exact location of a blade edge on the skin of a user enabling the user to properly align the blade edge on the skin during shaving.
