The processor detects pre-paired wireless connectivity for at least one of a plurality of remotely connected computing devices and implements a role-based policy to partially limit content sharing system operation, the operation is based on a role classification. The processor also auto-initiates navigation accessibility within authorized remotely connected computing devices via the content sharing system.

A method and device includes a scheduling controller receiving a request to reserve pairing with a device during a specific period of time, a memory storing a device identifier of a first information handling system in a scheduling table to associate the first information handling system with the device during the specific period of time, and providing connection details for the specific period of time to the first information handling system and the device, wherein the device and first information handling system can utilize the connection details to automatically pair any time after a start of the specific period of time.

System and method for policy based wireless docking access and prioritization

A docking station connects through a docking port and docking cable with an information handling system to support communication between the information handling system and docking station peripherals. On initial interface, one data lane of the docking port establishes a temporary management interface, such as an I2C management bus, to configure the docking station. After configuration, a docking manager, virtual wireless access point and power block cooperate to assign data lanes of the docking port and wireless communication resources to information transfer and power transfer functions based upon processing and communication tasks performed at the information handling system.

System and method for adding active out-of-band management capability as a user-selectable module

A system and method for performing an intelligent power dongle operation for information handling systems having a serial bus power connection such as a USB type-C power connection. In certain embodiments, the intelligent power dongle includes hardware and firmware to read a legacy adapter PSID information and convert the information to serial information such as USB Type-C baseboard management controller BMC compliant data. In certain embodiments the intelligent power dongle includes power management circuitry the allow selection and proper switching between a low voltage power mode (e.g., a 5V power mode) and a higher voltage power mode (e.g., a 19.5V power mode) depending on a device attached to the intelligent power dongle. In certain embodiments, the intelligent power dongle may be used to power low voltage devices (e.g., devices powered by 5V).

A layered content display system includes a networking device coupled to a network, a source device configured to display first content information on a source device screen, a display device, and a sink device coupled to the networking device, the source device, and the display device. The sink device receives an identification of the first content information from the source device. The sink device then retrieves a first subset of the first content information from the source device, and a second subset of the first content information from the network through the networking device. The sink device then provides the second subset of the first content information layered with the first subset of the first content information for display on the display device such that the first content information displayed on the display device is substantially similar to the first content information displayed on the source device screen.

A local connection and sharing system includes a first local IHS that includes a plurality of communication systems, and a second local IHS that includes at least one communication system. The first local IHS receives communication capabilities of the second local IHS using one of its communication systems and uses those communication capabilities to select a first communication system to provide a peer-to-peer connection with the second local IHS. The first local IHS then provides the second local IHS access through the peer-to-peer connection to a first data storage area that is coupled to the first IHS. A system and method for providing a multi-modal active cable. In certain embodiments, the multi-modal active cable enables transmission of alternative display information from a source system. More specifically, in certain embodiments, the multi-modal active cable comprises a switching component to allow host system integrated I/O signals to be provided as either I/O adapter integrated I/O signals or dedicated display signals via a single multi-modal active cable. In certain embodiments, the integrated I/O signals comprise Thunderbolt I/O signals. In certain embodiments, the dedicated display signals comprise DisplayPort signals. In certain embodiments the switching component comprises at least one radio frequency (RF) microwave high performance analog switches to switch the high speed digital signals (e.g., signal speeds up to 40 Gbps on each of a plurality of lane). By using such switches, the load capacitance on the signal paths is minimized as the impedance is carefully controlled.

A device includes a controller, a memory, and a processor. The controller receives reservation details. The reservation details includes a device identifier for a first information handling system reserved to pair with the device in response to a start of a specific period of time. The memory stores the reservation details. The processor receives a request to pair with the device during the specific period of time from the first information handling system, determines whether the first information handling system has reserved pairing with the device during the specific period of time, and if the first information handling system has reserved pairing with the device during the specific period of time, pairs the device with the first information handling system, otherwise denies the request to pair.

An information handling system includes a method for executing instructions for a content sharing system executing role-based policy settings for a plurality of remotely connected computing devices operatively connected to share content, detecting pre-paired wireless connectivity of remotely connected computing devices to a system hosting the content sharing system, implementing role-based policy settings to partially limit content sharing system operation based on a device role classification for the at least one of the plurality of remotely connected computing devices, auto-initiating navigation accessibility to the pre-paired remotely connected computing device via the content sharing system, and displaying a content sharing system desktop comprising a plurality of device environment-representative windows representing at least two of the plurality of remotely connected computing devices that devices function via different operating systems.

An information handling system includes a first subsystem having a first data module configured to provide a first signal, a second data module configured to provide a second signal, the first signal and the second signal are different types of signals, and a first aggregator unit coupled to the first data module and the second data module, and a second subsystem coupled to the first aggregator unit via a first aggregated signal line. A docking station connects through a docking port and docking cable with an information handling system to support communication between the information handling system and docking station peripherals. The docking cable includes an integrated input device, such as a mechanical button or fingerprint scanner, which accepts an end user input to command a power state transition at the information handling system, such as a transition between an on state and a reduced power state. The power state transition is sent directly from the integrated input device to the information handling system or, alternatively, from the integrated input device to the docking station and then from the docking station to the information handling system.
