A cylinder head gasket assembly includes a gasket and a wire. The gasket has a first side, a second side, and a cylinder bore opening extending through the first side and the second side. The gasket has a wall on the first side. The wall extends axially along the cylinder bore opening. The gasket has a ledge extending from the wall into the cylinder bore opening at the second side. The wire is ring-shaped. The wire is on the ledge and extends along the wall. Wax adheres the wire to the ledge.

A ball joint includes a grease boot having a snap ring at least partially embedded in an elastomeric body. The snap ring has a C-shaped body that defines a compressible radial gap in the elastomeric body. The snap ring can be at least partially embedded in a flange of the grease boot, with a radially outermost edge of the flange including a first elastomeric shoulder, a second elastomeric shoulder, and an exposed outer wall of the snap ring located between the first elastomeric shoulder and the second elastomeric shoulder.

A gasket assembly includes a gasket body, an adhesive-backed film, and a plurality of grommets. The gasket body includes a first face, and the adhesive-backed film includes a sticky face bonded to the first face of the gasket body. The grommets are bonded to the sticky face of the adhesive-backed film.

The ball joint includes a housing that has an inner bore. A ball stud is partially received in the inner bore. The ball stud has a ball portion and a shank portion which are separate pieces from one another and which are in threaded engagement with one another. At least one bearing is disposed in the inner bore and slidably supports the ball portion of the ball stud for allowing the ball stud to rotate and articulate relative to the housing. The ball portion is shaped through a forging operation, and the shank portion is shaped through a process which includes machining and does not include forging.
