A cold planer can include a frame; an operator station coupled to the frame and including a monitor; a cutting rotor coupled to the frame, the cutting rotor configured to be lowered a selected distance into a surface to define a depth of cut; a conveyor to receive material from the cutting rotor; and a cutting rotor location indication system including: a camera coupled to the frame and oriented to show an area on a side of the frame; and a visual indicator system configured to receive a first image from the camera and display on the monitor a visual image of a location of a leading edge and a trailing edge of the cutting rotor relative to the surface.

A machine includes a work implement and at least one camera arranged to capture a video image of a viewed area and provide a video signal related to the viewed area to a controller. The controller compiles a visual display in which the current position and a current direction of the work implement relative to the viewed area is displayed in real time. The controller also calculates a trajectory of the work implement based on machine speed and steering signals to compile a visual trajectory representation of the work implement relative to the viewed area, which is combined with the visual display into a combined visual representation that is presented to an operator through a video display.

Cutting tool visual trajectory representation system and method

A milling drum is disclosed for use with a cold planer. The milling drum may have a cylindrical body, a flighting plate affixed to an outer surface of the cylindrical body, a base block affixed to the fighting plate and having a first bore, a tool holder disposed in the first bore of the base block and having a second bore, a cutting tool disposed in the second bore of the tool holder, and a paddle affixed to the outer surface of the cylindrical body adjacent the fighting plate. The milling drum may further have a first transmitter coupled to the cutting tool, and a second transmitter coupled to the tool holder.

Wear monitoring system for milling drum

Disclosed is an anti-slab height control system and related method for regulating the elevational position of an anti-slab mounted to a cold planer configured for milling a roadway. The cold planer includes a milling drum. The system comprises an anti-slab, a position sensor, a controller and an actuator. The controller is configured to determine an actuator adjustment based on a predetermined height, position data and a cutting depth of the milling drum. The position data is indicative of a current elevational position of the anti-slab. The actuator is configured to move the anti-slab based on the actuator adjustment from the current elevational position to a first elevational position, wherein the bottom side of the anti-slab is disposed at the predetermined height above the roadway when the anti-slab is in the first elevational position.

Anti-slab height control system for a cold planer

A conveyor system for a cold planer is disclosed. The conveyor system may include a first conveyor, and a second conveyor configured to convey a milled material from the first conveyor to a discharge location. The second conveyor may include a first conveyor section, a second conveyor section, and a pivoted connection between the first conveyor section and the second conveyor section. The pivoted connection may provide movement of the second conveyor section relative to the first conveyor section during an operating state of the cold planer.
