Systems and methods for requesting computer software program logic by a client computing device from a server are provided. The method at the server comprises receiving a request for the computer software program logic from the client device along with a first list comprising details about multiple modules running on the client device; determining a second list comprising details about multiple modules required to deploy the computer software program logic on the client device; checking whether the modules of the second list need to be substituted based on their availability or suitability; updating the second list; checking whether the client device has permission rights for accessing the modules of the updated second list; and sending an object comprising the modules of the updated second list to the client device, the updated second list comprising details about the modules required for deployment of logic on the client device.

Incremental deployment of computer software program logic

A displayed document comprises an annotation widget, the widget associated with an annotation document and a corresponding annotation key in an annotation store. The annotation document associated with a workflow action program. A user with a predetermined privilege selects a widget and is presented with the annotation document. The user performs an annotation task modifying the annotation document and submits the annotation document to the annotation store, the submission triggering the workflow action program to progress the workflow to another step.

Multi-user, multi-timed collaborative annotation

A method, system and program product for annotating a transient state of a computer displayed application enables annotation of transient applications particularly web based applications. A transient application address (or key) and state information related to an application at a transient state are stored in an annotation store along with an annotation. The annotation is related to the transient application by the application address or key. The application is automatically restored to the transient state when the annotation is requested. Optionally a screen capture of the application at the transient state is also presented.

The present invention generally provides methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for managing an annotation system that includes storing annotations for a document family, i.e., a series of versions of a data source. Annotations created for one version of the data source may be viewed in context from both subsequent and prior versions of the same data source. Embodiments of the invention associate annotations with both a data source 'family identifier' as well as a 'version identifier.' Other than adding a family ID to the data source, the data source remains unchanged. The family ID is maintained across different versions of the data source, whereas version IDs are determined for a specific version of the data source. Version IDs can be constructed from each data source directly, and do not need to be stored.

Digital Fingerprints are generated for data objects in a system where separate annotation files are created for data objects. This permits cross heterogeneous system relationship of a data object with associated annotations. The digital fingerprint is saved in an annotation store along with a first relationship between the digital fingerprint and the location of annotations as well as a second relationship between the digital fingerprint and location of copies of the data object. The digital fingerprint can be generated by any system that has a copy of the data object. Annotations or data objects can be found by searching for the digital fingerprint and its relationships.

A method and system for displaying annotations is provided. In response to a user request, an annotation form is presented to a user for annotating a target document or image in a database. The annotation form is associated with the target document. A runtime program is associated with the annotation form. The annotation form selected by the user provides prompts for annotation input. The annotation input is saved in an annotation database and the runtime program performs an action on behalf of the user. Preferably the runtime program action comprises analysis of elements of the target document.

User form based automated and guided data collection

The invention relates to regulating access by users to a scarce resource, wherein the resource is capable of handling multiple concurrent accesses. A request for access to the scarce resource is received and it is determined whether the access level for the scarce resource is at a desired maximum. Responsive to determining that said access level is at a desired maximum, the requester is placed in a queue for access to said scarce resource. The requester is then provided with a notification that the request has been enqueued. Access is available to the requester upon reaching the head of the queue when the access level drops below the desired maximum.

Regulating access to a scarce resource

The invention relates to regulating access by users to a scarce resource. A request for access to the scarce resource is received. It is determined whether the access level for the scarce resource is at a desired maximum and responsive to determining that it is, the requester is allocated to an access slot. The requester is then provided with a notification of their allocated access slot. Access is available to the requester when the allocated slot is enabled.

An Event Manager receives events requiring action. The events are parsed into event action types which are placed in an Event Queue. Program agents in a pool of agents are dynamically instantiated and retired from the pool based on the number of queued events by type. Program agents, when available, initiate a search for a work entry on the Event Queue that is of a type that the agent can handle. When an agent finds work, the corresponding Event Queue entry is marked as assigned to the agent and the agent performs the action associated with the work entry.
