A computerized method to identify potentially malicious code in a network is described. Herein, information associated with a threat is analyzed to yield intelligence that includes instructions or indicators related to the threat. Based on the intelligence, a determination is made as to an endpoint device, which includes an endpoint agent, is to (i) receive at least one of the instructions or the indicators, (ii) conduct an examination of memory of the endpoint device for data corresponding to any of the instructions or the indicators, and (iii) obtain results of the examination. Verification information, including at least a portion of the results of the examination by the endpoint device and an identifier for the endpoint device, is gathered and correlated to determine whether such information corresponds to a verified threat. Thereafter, a notification, including a portion of the verification information, is sent to identify the verified threat.

System and method for verifying a cyberthreat

According to a general aspect, a method includes receiving, at a network interface device at a user location, a request from a first machine located at the user location, the request including a first-machine identifier and a request to access through the network interface device a first location on a network. The method also includes logging, at the network interface device, the request from the first machine into a first-machine log for requests from the first machine, the logging into the first-machine log being based on the first-machine identifier. The method also includes receiving at the network interface device a request from a second machine located at the user location, the request from the second machine including a second-machine identifier and a request to access through the network interface device a second location on the network, and the network interface device, the first machine, and the second machine being located at a user location. The method further includes logging, at the network interface device, the request from the second machine into a second-machine log for all requests from the second machine, the logging into the second-machine log being based on the second-machine identifier.

A system and method for analyzing data from a plurality of computer environments. The computer environments are authenticated and data is imported to a memory location. The data is converted into a uniform format to enable expedited searching by one or more authenticated users. The data may be marked so that a user may determine which computer environment provided the data. The system may also create one or more indexes of the data to assist one or more users in searching the data.

Method and system for collecting and organizing data corresponding to an event

A system and method to detect and contain threatening executable code by employing a threat monitor, verifier, endpoint agent, and a security information and event management module. The system and method determine whether a threat has persisted or executed, and allow that information to be communicated back to the detection mechanism (or other system) such that a user (or machine) may make a decision to take further action such as to contain the threat quickly and/or permit the system to do so automatically. The system further generates a report by a threat monitor, the report includes information on the one or more threats resulting from the analyzing of the portion of the network data; analyzing the information within the report by a verifier to yield intelligence that includes at least one of instructions or indicators related to the identified one or more threats and determining, gathering and correlating verification information from the endpoint agent to determine whether the verification information corresponds to a verified threat, the verification information includes at least a portion of the results of the examination and an identifier for the endpoint device; and sending a notification including a portion of the verification information to identify the verified threat.

System and method employing structured intelligence to verify and contain threats at endpoints

A system and method to communicate secure information between computing machines using an untrusted intermediate with resilience to disconnected network topology. The system and method utilize agnostic endpoints that are generalized to be interoperable among various systems, with their functionality based on their location in a network. The system and method enable horizontal scaling on the network. One or more clusters may be set up in a location within a network or series of networks in electronic communication, e.g., in a cloud or a sub-network, residing between a secure area of the network(s) and an unsecure area such as of an external network or portion of a network. The horizontal scaling allows the system to take advantage of a capacity of a local network. As long as an agent has connectivity to at least one locale of the network, the agent is advantageously operable to move data across the system.

System and method to communicate sensitive information via one or more untrusted intermediate nodes with resilience to disconnected network topology

A system and method to detect and contain threatening executable code by employing a threat monitor, verifier, endpoint agent, and a security information and event management module. The system and method are a departure from and an improvement over conventional systems in that, among other things, the system and method allow an investigator to determine whether a threat has persisted or executed, and allow that information to be communicated back to the detection mechanism (or other system) such that a user (or machine) may make a decision to take further action such as to contain the threat quickly and/or permit the system to do so automatically.

According to a general aspect, a method includes maintaining rating groups, each rating group providing a rating for content compiled based on information received from a user evaluating the content. The method also includes receiving, from a first user, a selection of a first rating group, from among the rating groups, to be applied to a set of users associated with the first user. The method also includes receiving, from a user, a request for a piece of content from the content. The method also includes determining that the user from which the request was received belongs to the set of users associated with the first user. The method also includes, based upon the determination that the user belonged to the set of users associated with the first user, accessing information associated with the first rating group and determining whether the first rating group includes a rating for the requested piece of content. The method also includes determining whether or not to provide information to the requesting user conditioned on the indication or absence of a rating for the requested piece of content within the first rating group.

Community-based parental controls

A system and method for analyzing data from a plurality of computer environments. A user may search for computer environments that meet a certain criterion. The computer environments are authenticated and data is copied from the computer environments to a memory location. The data may be marked so that a user may determine which computer environment provided the data. The user may add notations to the data during a review. Changes to data on the computer environments may be provided to a user using a syndication feed.
