A filter assembly for ultra-filtration of fluids such as waste water comprises a porous tube which is incrementally advanced into the fluid so as to expose a fresh portion periodically and maintain a flow rate over a period of time.

Micro-filtration

An analysis device, preferably in the form of a floating buoy, is disclosed for the analysis of fluids, such as waste water. The device has a main body portion and a removable cartridge containing consumable ingredients for use in analysis.

A compact bio-sensor is provided, particularly suitable for measuring biological oxygen demand, which includes micro-organisms for altering a biological parameter and sensors upstream and downstream of the organisms.

Bio-sensor

A microbial membrane reactor for use in flow systems comprises a first element to receive the microorganisms and a second element to receive the flow channels. The two elements have planar interior surfaces which are pressed together separated by a membrane impervious to the microorganisms. The flow channels arranged in or on the surface of the second element serve to transport the liquid along the membrane so that the liquid can interact with the microorganisms arranged on the other side of the membrane. The geometry of the flow pathway and thus the geometry of the flow channels can be easily altered, in respect of the length, width and height of the channel, and adapted to practical requirements.

Microbial membrane reactor for use in flow systems

A chart recorder with the facility to automatically review recorded data on chart paper. This review feature is high speed and accurate, and is provided by a series of one way drive mechanisms. These mechanisms comprise of various spools, rollers and gears. The chart paper is transferred from spool to spool. A removable cassette houses these mechanisms. The cassette is juxtapositioned with a floating recording station. The mutual abutment of the cassette with the recording station ensures that the required tolerances between the chart paper and the pen head are achieved.
