In an embodiment, a power conversion system includes: an on-board charger; a main battery configured to be recharged with power and to supply the recharged power to a motor, thereby supplying rotation force to a wheel of a vehicle; an auxiliary battery configured to recharge the main battery or to assist a power supply function of the main battery; and a power converter connected to the auxiliary battery, the power converter comprising a bypass circuit and a buck switch. A part of the on-board charger and the power converter constitute a DC-DC converter, and the buck switch is configured to be repeatedly switched on and off when a voltage of the auxiliary battery is higher than a voltage of the main battery, and does not operate when the voltage of the auxiliary battery is not higher than the voltage of the main battery.

A power conversion system includes: a main battery configured to be recharged with power and to supply the recharged power to a motor, thereby supplying rotation force to a wheel of a vehicle; an auxiliary battery configured to recharge the main battery or to assist a power supply function of the main battery; and a power converter connected to auxiliary battery, the power converter comprising a bypass circuit and a buck converter. The buck converter includes a buck switch, and is configured to convert a voltage of the auxiliary battery into a voltage for recharging the main battery in accordance with an ON/OFF switching operation of the buck switch.

Converter and power conversion system for vehicle auxiliary battery

According to a single-stage interleaved software switching converter, power factor is controlled and battery charging and current are integrally controlled on the basis of a PFC circuit of a single-stage interleaving type so that efficiency of a charging device is enhanced and the cost is reduced. Further, it is possible to remove harmful electromagnetic radiation; enhance power density and durability by using a film-type capacitor instead of the conventional electrolytic capacitor; reduce switching loss by soft switching operation and to reduce the volume of a filter unit; design magnetizing current to be small by removing a low-frequency component of a transformer and to reduce the volume; and perform high-power charging according to the number of windings of the transformer.
